Dan founded and heads HP Strategy Associates, LLC which serves leaders in government, small to medium sized businesses and Fortune 500 companies. He helps leaders develop their strategic thinking and create innovative improvement and growth strategies. And he delivers these services through research, interactive seminars, coaching and consulting.
He also is an award winning writer and a contributing editor for Strategy and Leadership, a leading business strategy journal. He wrote, Leveraging Intellectual Capital with Knowledge-Based Management, the American Management Association, New York, NY 1997.
Prior to establishing his firm, he served as a Lt Colonel in the U.S. Army. In his last active duty position, he was the Total Quality Officer, Army Personnel Command. He helped this command become more customer-focused resulting in improved morale and readiness. Prior to this position, he was the Director of Decision Support Systems, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Army Personnel in the Pentagon. In these two positions, he was among the first to implement Total Quality and Six Sigma in the Army.
He is: a professional member of the National Speakers Association; a former president of the Strategic Leadership Forum of the Metro DC Area; and a former director and conference chairman for the International Strategic Leadership Forum.
He has a Bachelor of Business Administration from North Texas University, a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Southern California, and a diploma in Operations Research from the U.S. Army Logistics Management College. He also is a graduate of the Naval War College.
