Dear Family & Friends,
I think this one speaks for itself. The Muslims are at war with us Jews & we Jews have to think, act & drive defensively. Our Jerusalem Mayor & others tell us to carry our licensed guns with us to discourage the depraved attacks we’ve been suffering lately…(since forever). Laws for getting private gun licenses must be liberalized so we can defend ourselves & our kin. No excuse for a 24 year age limit before licenses can be issued to those at risk.
Now you can really know why I still call this a “Gaza War Diary”. That war never ended.
I have to comment on Abu Mazen’s vile comment: “…filthy feet”. A long, long time ago before all the restrictions I went up to the Jewish Temple Mount as a tourist. Inside the Golden Dome of the Rock, I was struck by overpowering smell of “dirty feet”. The Muslims go into their mosques in bare feet & apparently, their feet do smell. The carpets overlaying the ancient floor are permeated by “filthy feet” odor. Now, if PA Pres. Abu Mazen wants to incite his hordes of attackers by calling out the smell of “filthy feet”, perhaps we should institute a ‘smell test’ of Muslim feet entering their mosques.
So a sweet smelling night of new rain which just started at 12:30 am. A wonderful safe day. All the very best, Gail/Geula/Savta/Savta Raba x 2/Mom

[Gail Sez: That can be difficult if an Israeli citizen has to be 24 years old to get a gun license…even if such a person is married & has children to defend & lives in areas which the Terrorists often act violently against Jews, women & children included! Israel Police are on guard Thursday as a wave of Arab violence continues to sweep across Israel, resulting on Wednesday in five serious terrorist attacks.
Although such an announcement has not been made publicly or explicitly, Walla! News reports, police and local authorities have unofficially given instructions to civilians to carry personal weapons.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat has however issued an official statement urging residents of the capital to carry licensed firearms to increase their personal security.
“The mayor encourages licensed gun owners to carry their weapons to increase security. He himself serves as a personal example of this,” the Jerusalem municipality said.
According to the municipality, Barkat was carrying his licensed Glock pistol on a recent tour of Beit Hanina with police to improve the security of Jerusalem’s light rail as well as last February when he thwarted a terrorist attack against a haredi man.
“Given the current escalation [of violence] in the security situation, those with a licensed firearm who know what to do with it must go out with [their weapon] – it’s an imperative,” Barkat told Army Radio on Thursday. “In a way, it’s like military reserve duty.”
Ashdod police commander Noam Shekel also advocated for civilians with gun licenses to carry weapons with them in light of the serious security situation in Israel.
One senior police official noted that civilians carrying personal weapons was helpful against terror, particularly against the lone-wolf attacks which have been seen in recent weeks.

10/8/2015 [Gail Sez: Sad to say, I agree with Tuvia Brodie. Evidence indicates that this is truly a War against the Jews. We shall defend ourselves & our kin. We shall win our rights to live in this Land as free Jews.]
Tuvia Brodie has a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh under the name Philip Brodie. He has worked for the University of Pittsburgh, Chatham College and American Express. He and his wife made aliyah in 2010. All of his children have followed. He believes in Israel’s right to exist. He believes that the words of Tanach (the Jewish Bible) are meant for us. There’s a rumour making the rounds in Israel today, October 8, 2015, in the Jerusalem area. The rumour says there’ve been 108 Arab attacks against Jews in the last 24 hours.
I don’t know if that number is correct. But from what I can see, it certainly sounds right.
We are at war.
The enemy is Jew-hating Muslim Arabs. We know that’s our enemy because we see their pictures. We see them in the news. We see them on film.
We see them attacking Jews on CCTV clips published on news sites and blogs. We see them stabbing, kicking, tripping and shoving Jews in unprovoked assaults on youtube videos uploaded from both Jewish and Arab cell phones.
Arab Muslims are on a bloody, murderous rampage. They’re throwing stones at Jews. They’re attacking Jews. They’re shooting Jews. They are out to kill Jews.
This blood-thirsty frenzy has nothing to do with establishing a new state of ‘Palestine’ so that two nations can live side-by-side in peace and security (as the European Union proclaims). It has everything to do with killing Jews.
It doesn’t get any simpler than that. It’s hardly more complex than that.
I have a picture for you. Perhaps you’ve seen it before. It’s a picture that shows you the happy face of the ‘Palestinian Cause’.
You’ve been told repeatedly that the ‘Palestinian Cause’ is about justice for the ‘Palestinian people’. You’ve been told that it’s about helping the ‘Palestinian people’ achieve their dream of self-determination—their own state.
But those who promote this ‘Cause’ don’t tell you that the creation of this new state requires the extermination of another state–Israel. Since the creation of modern Israel, that extermination has meant killing Jews.
In fact, ‘Palestine’ cannot exist without wiping Israel off the world map. Actions speak louder than words; and the actions of ‘Palestinians’ have always been the same: ‘Palestine’ can be born only through the blood of dead Jews.
We know this about the ‘Palestinians’ because of a picture:
The woman in this picture is Hillevi Larssona. At the time this picture was taken, between October-December 2014, she was a Swedish Parliament Member who was instrumental in convincing the Swedish Parliament, in October, 2014, to recognize ‘Palestine’ as a ‘state’ (“Sweden Recognizes ‘Palestine’ as a State”, Arutz Sheva, October 4, 2014). Palestinian officials in Sweden were so pleased with her efforts they honoured her with the plaque pictured above—along with a sample ‘Palestinian’ flag’ (the picture comes from “Sweden approves borders of ‘Palestine’ with Israel erased”, Times of Israel, December 3, 2014).
The map of ‘Palestine’ she holds is actually the outline of the modern state of Israel.
Look at a map of Israel. Compare the shape of Israel with the shape of this ‘Palestine’. The two shapes are identical.
Even taking into account changes created by graphic creativity, this plaque is pretty much an exact outline of what Israel looks like on a map—only the outline in this plaque isn’t called Israel. It’s called ‘Palestine’.
In case you don’t get the point, the new ‘Palestine’ doesn’t sit side-by-side with Israel. It doesn’t sit next to Israel. It replaces Israel. Its very existence requires the disappearance of Israel.
That’s why Arabs attack Jews. They want that replacement to happen now.
This is war. It’s a war to rid Israel of Jews. Its aim is to kill Jews, conquer Israel, take over the Temple Mount and rename the land conquered as ‘Palestine’.
Jews in Israel know this. This is why the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, has declared that Jews who own a licensed gun should wear that gun whenever they go out (Paul Goldman and Lawahez Jabari, “Palestinian Unrest: Carry Guns at All Times, Jerusalem Mayor Says”,NBCNews, October 8, 2015). It’s why Israel’s Deputy Defense Minister, Eli Ben-Dahan, has called on all of Israel’s Jewish citizens to carry their licensed weapons on them (“Deputy Defense Minister Calls on Citizens to Carry Their Guns”, Jewish Press, October 8, 2015).
We are now told—not asked—to carry loaded guns for a simple reason: the Palestinian Authority (our so-called ‘peace partner’) celebrates the killing of Jews.
How do we know this? We know it because the Palestinian Authority has announced that killing Jews brings joy–that the killing of Jews is a ‘heroic’ act that brings ex?pressions of joy to ‘Palestinians’ (Tzvi Ben-Gedalyahu, “Official PA Daily Reports that Murders of Jews Brings Joy”, Jewish Press, October 8, 2015; see also, Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik, “Palestinians joyous by sharing pictures of dead Israelis”.Palestinian Media Watch, October 8, 2015).
This is war. It’s a war of Jew-hate. It has the same goal as the Jew-hate of Nazi Germany. It lusts to spill Jewish blood.

3.Arlene Kushner Navigating Choppy Waters” Oct 7, 2015
It has become apparent to me that some of my readers, living outside of Israel but totally devoted to Israel, have an inflated sense of her potency. And I want to start by addressing this.
That we should stand strong, for example, against the violence of Arabs, absolutely! And I will have more to say about this below.
But this does not mean that Israel need not worry about international repercussions and that she is immune to all actions that might be taken against her in various spheres. Efforts to delegitimize Israel can cause considerable damage. Sometimes prudent judgment is called for along with muscle flexing. About this whole issue of the need for prudent judgment, as well, I will have more to say below.
These are the choppy waters.
Since yesterday, there have been more terror attacks. Good that announcements have been made about measures to be taken, but we need them in place like yesterday. Some plans, such as installing cameras, will take time. But the troops – empowered to act as they need to – must be out in force.
One of the trouble spots with regard to rock throwing and similar terrorist actions has been in the vicinity of the Jewish community of Tekoa, in the Judean Desert.
Credit: Jewish Agency
Terrorists are fond of throwing rocks at the cars driving on the road from Tekoa to Jerusalem (a new road, not represented on this map, that goes to the Har Homa neighborhood of Jerusalem). Of late there has been considerable difficulty in this region, with cars frequently pelted by rocks.
This morning terrorists went one step further: Tekoa resident Rivi Lev Ohayon was on her way to her job in Jerusalem, when she encountered some twenty young adult Arabs holding rocks and forming a human barrier across the road. A man with a large rock came towards her, and then some 10 Arabs jumped on the car and broke her windshield. One attempted to open the door of the car, but she succeeded in pulling away, in reverse, and calling police. Deeply traumatized, she considers herself lucky that she was not lynched.
Credit: Security
Seven other cars were stoned on the same road at that time.
None of this should happen. Not ever.
Then, a bit later this morning, another attack in the Old City of Jerusalem, near the Lion’s Gate. A young Arab woman knifed a man, stabbing him in his upper body. He was carrying a gun, however, and shot her. She is in serious condition.
Lion’s Gate is the location where the horrendous attack occurred that took two lives on Saturday night. And in this location, too, there must be sufficient security presence – police, soldiers – to guard against such incidents.
A third attack took place in Kiryat Gat today, perpetrated by an Arab from Yatta – an Arab village in Area A, near Susiya – who was in Israel illegally. After alighting from a bus, he stabbed a soldier and grabbed his gun, then ran into an apartment building. When he tried to force his way into an apartment, the resident fled, screaming. Police were alerted and when they arrived the terrorist began shooting at them. Returning fire, they killed him.
I want to look at the most recent game playing of that slippery manipulator,
Mahmoud Abbas. Credit: ibtimes
I doubt there is anyone reading this who does not know how much responsibility he bears for the current violence. Just days ago, at the UN, he not only spewed incitement, he suggested that he was about to walk away from the Oslo Accords.
But yesterday, he was singing a different song. And this was obviously because Netanyahu had announced sterner security measures. A clear indication that the announced intention to enforce such measures had an impact.
Suddenly, Abbas was a man of peace. Sort of. What he said was: “We want to reach a political solution peacefully, and no other solution. We want to minimize the risks of destruction and loss that will sprout on all sides in the current situation.”
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4707560,00.html
This was for public consumption. He then qualified his remarks with more of his UN theme, putting the onus on Israel: “We say to the Israelis: Stop building in the settlements and come to the negotiating table. We will be willing to return to negotiations and discuss the agreements that have been violated and neglected by Israel since Oslo and until now. “We are committed to these agreements, but it is unreasonable for us to be the only ones who are committed to them. If Israel does not want these agreements, we do not want to implement them.”
This is the old Abbas “play both sides against the middle” technique, riddled with misrepresentations and distortions.
As to his statement that, “All our instructions to our agencies, our factions and our youth have been that we do not want escalation,” there is one main question to be asked: Is this a blatant lie, did he not give such instructions? Or do the Palestinian Arab factions and youth simply not care what he says?
I do not have answer, but we see the evidence, in today’s three incidents, that the violence has not abated.
It has been revealed by media sources that during the Security Cabinet meeting Prime Minister Netanyahu held Monday night, after the close of Simchat Torah, the issue of threats by Obama was raised. Some of the right wing/nationalist members of the Cabinet (some within the Likud itself) were urging that part of the response to terrorism be increased building in Judea and Samaria.
This is not going to happen, Netanyahu informed them. For Obama has said that if there is building in Judea and Samaria, he will not veto a French resolution that is to be brought to the UN Security Council, a resolution that reportedly would declare “Palestine” a state and would declare the settlements “illegal.”
“We will not jeopardize international support for a declaration of building,” a senior source in the Netanyahu administration reportedly said, While the prime minister himself called for “a sober political maneuver.”
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/201499#.VhUukJuhfIX
“We are in a long struggle,” said Netanyahu, “and it does not need militancy, but rather it needs a lot of strength, a resolute attitude, much composure and thoroughness, and that is what we are doing.”
http://www.jpost.com/Arab-Israeli-Conflict/Netanyahu-Cameras-linked-to-command-centers-will-be-spread-out-on-all-West-Bank-roads-421068
The question I want to explore, then, is whether Netanyahu simply “caved” to the US, as Arutz Sheva suggests, and as is his pattern, or whether he has valid reason to be cautious here.
My gut impulse is to say, damn them all, go ahead and build. Now is the time for us to stand up for what is ours by right. But I know that my gut impulse is not necessarily the wisest course of action.
In exploring precisely what IS the wisest course, I contacted two highly respected and knowledgeable international lawyers, and here share their responses. Please, walk this through with me:
One lawyer, deeply involved in legal issues in Judea and Samaria, was interested in looking at the repercussions in terms of international law.
What those repercussions would be “all depends on whether any such resolution is adopted under Chapter 6 of the UN charter (non-binding recommendation) or chapter 7 (binding, action oriented).
“None of the existing resolutions were adopted under chapter 7, which can be used only in the event of a threat to international peace and security which requires military intervention. I can’t see that happening with us [he speaks as an Israeli].”
As I understand this, then, calling the settlements “illegal” would have no real legal import in terms of forcing Israeli communities out of Judea and Samaria.
As to establishing a state, it is, as I have indicated before (having discussed the issue with this lawyer before) that: “The UN doesn’t have the power to establish a state, but merely to accept existing states as members, subject to Security Council invitation.”
He does see it as possible (though unlikely) that such an invitation might be issued.
He predicts that Obama would be reluctant even now “to undermine the entire Oslo process in such a blatant manner.” His opinion (this is not a legal opinion) is that a resolution would be tempered, and would “call for an immediate return to negotiations, with the aim of establishing a Palestinian state and recommending a freeze in settlements.” All this, he says would not “really dramatically change the present situation.”
“But the settlement issue as well as that of Jerusalem have regrettably reached panic proportions thanks to very clever Palestinian manipulation of Obama and the EU and their evidently existing predisposition to harm Netanyahu and hence harm Israel.” (My emphasis added here)
The other lawyer, a man with sterling international credentials, chose to look at other, non-legal aspects of the issue (my emphasis added):
”The SC resolution would be very very damaging. Not because of any particular legal point, but because it would lock in a fundamental delegitimization of Israel, trigger a wave of EU sanctions, and make it harder for future US presidents to support Israel.
“If holding off on new building for now is the price of Obama’s veto, it may be worth it. However, there is no reason to believe he promised to veto the resolution. Rather, he may have threatened to NOT veto if we build. But that doesn’t mean that he WILL veto if we don’t – i.e., he is likely to NOT veto anyway.
“Unless Bibi has concrete assurances on this, it makes sense to assume there will be no veto and build anyway…His (Obama’s) promise may be worth something if made publicly or with some other additional indicia of reliability.”
What we see then is that this is not a simple matter and should be taken seriously, but received without panic. It is not easy, being the head of a state that is isolated internationally and against which much venom is directed.
In the end it may well be that now is the time to stand up and claim our rights. But I would not make light of Netanyahu’s hesitancy to move forward.
The good news for today? We’ve had rain. Heavy rain. The first of the season. After the terribly hot and dusty summer we’ve had it is particularly welcome. And it is considered a blessing. May many more blessings follow.

4.US measure for Iran victims to get paid before sanctions waived inspired by Shurat HaDin By YONAH JEREMY BOB The Jerusalem Post| October 4, 2015 The White House has already vowed to veto the legislation which passed two weeks after efforts to kill the Iran nuclear deal failed in the US Congress.
Israeli NGO Shurat HaDin was a key inspiration for US Rep. Pat Meehan (R-Pennsylvania) presenting a bill that passed the House of Representatives 251-173 and would bar President Barack Obama from waiving any sanctions on Iran under the new deal until around $40 billion has been paid to Americans victims of Tehran-backed terrorism, a staffer for the congressman has indicated. The White House has already vowed to veto the legislation, which passed late on Thursday, two weeks after efforts to kill the Iran nuclear deal failed in the Congress. However, lawmakers are still developing legislation seeking to influence, or undermine, the international agreement. The measure passed the Republican-led House largely along party lines, with Republicans in favor and Obama’s fellow Democrats opposed.
On August 5, a group of American victims of Iranian terrorism holding around $1.5b. in US court judgments against it filed a motion to enjoin the Obama administration from releasing an estimated $100b. in frozen Iranian assets. The motion injected itself into an already heated congressional review of the Obama administration’s agreement with Iran, and Republicans supportive of Thursday’s measure credited Shurat Hadin’s motion as an inspiration.
Among other things, the Iran nuclear deal, which Congress cannot really stop anymore, eventually requires lifting US and world economic sanctions and unfreezing the $100b. of Iran’s assets in return for Tehran reducing the footprint of its nuclear weapons program.
The Shurat Hadin – Israel Law Center motion said that under the deal, the US has pledged to unfreeze the funds belonging to the Central Bank of Iran held primarily in overseas accounts, and to delist from sanctions lists the (according to the NGO) Iran Revolutionary Guard-connected Melli, Mellat and Sepah banks. The NGO stated, “The families claim that releasing the funds will preclude them from ever collecting on their judgments and deprive them of the only leverage they have to make Iran pay.”
The judgments stem from deadly attacks committed from 1995 through 2006 by Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad, Iran’s terrorist proxies, including suicide bombings and drive-by shootings, in which the plaintiffs were harmed, Shurat Hadin said.
While Shurat Hadin’s motion related to around $1.5b. in assets, the congressional measure covers around $40b. because it relates to all Iranian infractions against all Americans, including against US government property, dating back to 1979.
Highlighting the importance that the frozen assets could have for Shurat Hadin, it noted in the motion that until now and absent leverage such as the only recently (relative to the decade-long collection attempts) frozen large assets, it has had very limited success collecting on judgments against Iran.
The NGO has successfully seized two houses over the years, but that is a drop in the bucket compared to the $152 million in compensatory damages and the around $1.5b. in total overall damages awarded by US courts. “It would be outrageous to release the $100b. in frozen Iranian funds when these American families have unpaid court judgments against the terror sponsoring regime in Tehran,” Nitsana Darshan-Leitner said.
“If you release these funds you erase all hope for the families of ever getting a measure of justice against this outlaw regime,” she said.

5.Putin/Iran Will Rape Sunni Oil Riches as Stalin/Hitler Raped Poland: What is Putin’s goal? By Mark Langfan Arutz Sheva IsraelNationalNews.com Oct. 7,
Mark Langfan specializes in security issues, has created an original educational 3d Topographic Map System of Israel to facilitate clear understanding of the dangers facing Israel and its water supply. It has been studied by US lawmakers at www.marklangfan.com.
In 1939, about 9 months after Chamberlain inked his Munich-Czechoslovakian appeasement of Hitler, Stalin and Hitler (in their oxymoronically named “Non-Aggression Pact”) agreed to aggressively devour Poland, thus precipitating World War II.
In 2015, a mere 3 months after President Obama inked his Vienna-Nuclear appeasement of Iran, Putin and Iran agreed to devour Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, thus inevitably precipitating World War III. Obama’s inane “peace in our time” has already immediately reaped war and death “dividends” for millions of Sunni Muslims who face certain genocide and war crimes at the hands of an evil amalgam of Putin’s Russian mafiacracy spliced with Khamenei’s Shiite Islamic theocracy.
What is Putin’s goal? Putin plans on becoming the nuclear, UN-veto wielding Godfather of the Middle East. Putin has got an offer the Sunnis can’t refuse, because Putin is going to kill them first, and ask questions later. Putin plans to first secure the Iran-Iraq-Syria oil and gas pipeline to the Eastern Mediterranean with his nuclear umbrella.
Then, Russia intends to collect the Saudi Arabian part of the Black Gold Triangle and leave Mecca to Iran. The Black Gold Triangle is the topographic delta formed by the Tigris and Euphrates River in the Fertile Crescent that holds 56% of the world’s oil supply. Iran’s goal is to buy Russian military protection for its oil pipeline and hegemonic ground empire to the Eastern Mediterranean. Unlike the United States, Putin won’t idiotically retreat and return the Sunni’s oil riches to a power vacuum after he occupies them. He’ll keep them for his Russian Mafiacracy. Unfortunately, the world can’t wait for Russia and Iran to fight over the leftovers.
Just as Hitler baited Stalin with half of Poland, the Iranians baited Putin with control over the Iran-to-Syria pipeline. The Iranians inebriated Putin with Catherine-the-Great-like Russian pipedreams of raping Saudi Arabian oil in the not-too-distant future as the stepping-stone to a new Russian Empire. Also, the Iranians likely incessantly whispered into Putin’s ear that it was the Saudis, who with America, funded the Afghani jihadist who toppled the Soviet Empire to begin with. Whatever evil notions the Iranians plied Putin with, they worked like a charm.
An Iranian-controlled contiguous corridor from Iran through Iraq through Syria, and even including Lebanon all under the nuclear umbrella of Russia would create a topological east-west scythe through the Middle East. Such an anti-air/area denial “A2/AD” zone would make any conventional US defense of Saudi Arabia or any of the Sunni Kingdoms impossible.
Additionally, with an Iran-through-Iraq-to-Syria oil pipeline under a Russian nuclear and conventional defense umbrella, Saudi Arabia would be economically besieged. Therefore, under the Russian-Iranian goal of a Russian protected Iran-Syria-Iraq-Lebanon (“Russian ISIL”) controlled pipeline corridor, Saudi Arabia could not survive either militarily or economically.
What’s most dangerous to the United States, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel? An ISIL composed of a bunch of isolated Islamic crazies controlling half of Syria and a quarter of Iraq, or a Russian ISIL controlling an Iran-Syria-Iraq-Lebanon land-mass; and then onto an European oil-gas pipeline that will hold Europe hostage to Russian-Iranian oil and gas.
How to stop Putin? Quickly supply the Syrian rebels with all the TOWs, LAWs, SPG-9s with mounted gun-sights, heavy-caliber ammo, and 122m anti-personnel katyushas you can make. For the rebels to defeat the combination of Russian Air and Shiite ground forces, the rebels will need not only the heavier TOW anti-tank, but also tons and tons of lighter and smaller anti-tank weapons. LAWs are smaller light-anti-tank missiles and SPG-9s are recoilless rifles that carry anti-armor rounds that can decimate convoys and outposts.
Since none of these weapons represent a proliferation threat, the theater should be flooded with them. Also, LAWs and SPG-9s are dirt cheap and very, very small and transportable. With Russian precision bombing, the rebels will have to present smaller and more dispersed targets to evade targeting.
With the anti-personnel katyushas targeting and harassing Russian Air bases, the Syrian rebels will be able to draw the Iranian/Russian forces to attack the rebels outside of the defensive perimeter of their bases. The katyushas’ ball-bearings will tear through parked Russian fighter-jets and render them useless. The Russians seem to have forgotten the logistical problems they had in supplying their Afghanistan bases.
In short, we are not seeing Russia fight ISIL for the good of the world. Rather, the world is witnessing Russia and Putin commit genocide against the Sunnis, making his hostile take-over bid for the Black Gold Triangle where he can fund and expand his empire, and further extort Europe with Russia’s newly stolen Saudi Arabian oil reserves.

6.Car Ramming Attack Wounds Two as Israel Reels from Wave of Palestinian Terror
by TheTower.org Staff | 10.07.15 5:35 pm
A Palestinian driver rammed his vehicle into a checkpoint east of Jerusalem on Wednesday evening, injuring two border police officers before being shot and apprehended, The Times of Israel reported.
In a statement, the police said the man was traveling from the direction of Ma’ale Adumim in the West Bank. The driver and victims have been transported to separate hospitals in Jerusalem.
The car ramming is the latest incident in a series of terrorist attacks that swept through Israel and the West Bank on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, three separate stabbings left two Israeli civilians and one soldier injured, while an attempted stabbing was foiled by police in east Jerusalem. That morning, seven Israeli drivers came under attack in the West Bank by a rock-throwing Palestinian mob, which witnesses say tried to pull one woman out of her car, smashed her windshield and kicked her multiple times.
According to a report (Hebrew link) from Israel’s channel 4, over 105 rock-throwing attacks and 35 fire-bombings were recorded throughout the day.
Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “We will take firm action against terrorists, lawbreakers and inciters. We have bolstered our troops and are using all means necessary to fight this terrorism,” The Times of Israel reported. Conversely, members of the Fatah Central Council, which includes Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas, praised Palestinians “rising to defend their al-Aksa Mosque and confronting terrorist settlers,” according to The Jerusalem Post.
The tide of violence comes only days after two stabbing attacks left two dead and three wounded in Jerusalem. Earlier this month, Rabbi Eitam and Naama Henkin were fatally shot while driving through the West Bank with their four children. Abbas did not condemn either attack.

7.Jihadist Jew Hunting in Jerusalem & Shomron
The difference between a mentally ill lone mass murderer in the West and a mentally ill Jihadist in Israel. ArutzSheva IsraelNationalNews.com October 06, 2015
Prof. Phyllis Chesler, a Shillman-Ginsburg Fellow at the Middle East Forum and recipient of the 2013 National Jewish Book Award, is the author of sixteen books, including Women and Madness, Woman’s Inhumanity to Woman, and The New Anti-Semitism. She has written four studies about honor killing, Her latest books are An American Bride in Kabul, (Palgrave Macmillan) and Living History: On The Front Lines for Israel and the Jews.Professor Chesler may be reached at her website www.phyllis-chesler.com.
The recent murders of Jews in Jerusalem and in Shomron are as horrifying as they are predictable. They are Third Intifada lone-Jihadist stabbing sprees, post-Abbas-at-the-United Nations vigilante group shootings. These very specific anti-Semitic murders are being minimized, poorly covered, subsumed under the front page headlines of the Oregon college shootings.
For example, the Oregon atrocity made page A1 in the New York Times and took up two whole additional pages in Section A. The Jerusalem murders appeared on page 8, at page bottom, and took up only 1/4th of the page. In addition, the Palestinian stabber-shooter was described as a “law student”; his victims were described as “ultra-Orthodox Jewish men.” Late last week, Palestinians shot and killed two parents in front of their four children; they are described as “settlers” in the “occupied West Bank.”
In short, as many have been led to believe, these Jewish victims are somehow deserving of their fates, since they have “provoked” Palestinians by “humiliating them.”
The NYT “spin” on the Oregon shooting is, as usual, one which focuses on the need for gun control and the crisis of mental illness. The killers featured there are mainly white, mentally ill men, who had access to guns. This is the company in which the Oregon shooter is placed. The Times and other mass media do not write that Mercer-Harper is bi-racial nor do they focus on his internet love affair with Jihad.
President Obama is called our first “black” President although his mother was Caucasian and very white and his father was a black African. Conversely, but similarly, Mercer-Harper, the Oregon shooter’s father is white but his mother is an African-American nurse. Does this make Mercer-Harper one of the white boys? Just asking.
I have no doubt that these men were “mentally ill.” However, there is a difference between someone who is “mentally ill,” let’s say a paranoid schizophrenic or depressed, someone who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, or has a Social Personality Disorder but who grew up in a Judeo-Christian culture—and someone who suffers from any of these same psychiatric illnesses, but who has grown up in a tribal, shame-and-honor Muslim culture, (which routinely means serious but normalized child neglect and abuse, paternal absence, and the most profound devaluation of women and infidels). Take someone from such a culture and who is “mentally ill,” and who is living during a period of glorified global Jihad and who has been propagandized into becoming a human bomb, stabber, or stoner of other Muslims and of all infidels and we have a very different kind of problem.
The “mentally ill” loner-boys in the Judeo-Christian West have latched on to a variety of ideologies that are not currently collectively embraced. They are viewed by all as racists, haters, disgusting. The “mentally ill” loner-boys in Muslim societies are not loners once they embrace an approved ideology of violent, externally oriented Jihad. And, they are glorified, treated as martyr-heroes. This, too, is an important difference.
Such distinctions must be made especially as Europe is being flooded with countless immigrants from Muslim cultures and as President Obama keeps upping the number of Muslim immigrants whom America will be accepting.
Neither Obama nor the Pope have specifically called for the acceptance of Christians and Yazidis. One must wonder why. And, one must challenge them both on this point.

8.Third Intifada or Third Reich? By Prof. Phyllis Chesler Like the Polish Catholic priests in pre-World War II rural Poland, mullahs and imams have been whipping Muslims into a Jew-hating frenzy for a long, long time. And the comparison doesn’t end there. Arutz Sheva IsraelNationalNews.com Oct 08, 2015
Polish journalist, Anna Bikont, has written a master work (The Crime and the Silence) about the infamous 1941 massacre of Jews in wartime Jedwabne—by their Polish Catholic neighbors, not by Nazi German soldiers. At least forty Catholic residents of Jedwabne beat, herded, and drove anywhere from 200-340 of their Polish Jewish neighbors into a barn, locked the doors, and set the barn on fire.
The Polish killers took over all the Jewish homes and shops, they moved right in—and, righteously, without shame, just helped themselves to all the Jewish furniture, clothing, jewelry, china, market wares, and rich, farming acreage. And, they kept what they had done secret; when challenged, they denied it. Every eyewitness was made to understand that anyone who “talked” would be killed.
However, in order to explain such a heinous massacre, Bikont begins by describing what the situation was for Jews in rural, agricultural Poland in the 1920’s and 1930’s.
Catholic priests routinely preached and propagandized against Jews. The Jews killed Christ, the Jews stole what rightfully belonged to Catholics, the Jews were greedy, dangerous, treacherous. The Jews had to be stopped—for God’s sake.
A climate was created in which, according to Professor Jerzy Jedlicki, “hatred towards Jews, contempt and mockery of Jews, (became) part of twentieth century European culture…(the) “destruction of the Jews was watched with amusement by a significant part of the local Polish population. That amusement, the laughter that accompanied the Holocaust—I remember it, because at that time I was on the other, Aryan side of the wall.”
Bikont also quotes Marek Edelman who “saw with his own eyes how young people threw stones into the ghetto (in Lvov).” Edelman heard the same refrain: ‘Hitler’s doing the job for us.’”
In painstaking and painful detail, Bikont recounts what a relative, Oleg Wolynski told her, an account confirmed by Zygmunt Klukowski’s Diary of the Occupation. The Poles eagerly took part in liquidation raids, “hunted down Jews, drove them to the magistrate or police station, beat them, kicked them. Boys chased little Jewish kids who were killed by policemen right in front of everyone.” “Bruised and bloodied” Jewish corpses were “thrown any which way onto wagons.”
Before the Holocaust, Poles laughed and joked as they harassed, beat, hacked at, tortured, and burned Jewish men, women, and children alive. Why do I refer to these events now? Bear with me.
According to Bikont, in 1932, a Jewish man in Jedwabne was killed by Poles who had “done it for a laugh.” In 1936, in Radzilow, on market day, “attack squads knocked down stalls and beat up Jews. In Bialystock, “51 (Jewish) windows were broken, 15 stalls knocked down, five Jews beaten up.” In another nearby town, “17 doors (were) hacked with axes, two shops destroyed, wares ransacked.”
The Polish youth were “whipped” into a Jew-hating frenzy by the “National Party as well as from the pulpit…More and more frequently we (saw) spontaneous and autonomous actions against Jews.”
Today, Israel has a very strong military. Israel’s military intelligence is second to none. But let us also remember that Israel is surrounded by more than a billion Arabs and Muslims; most Arab and Muslim country, pre-ISIS, significantly “cleansed” their countries of Jews by torturing and murdering them, or by exiling them with only ten dollars in their pockets.
Like the Poles of Jedwabne, Arab Muslims also took over all the Jewish homes, shops, factories, furniture, and land. Jews from Egypt, Iraq, Syria and other Muslim countries never received the slightest compensation or sympathy.
Like the Polish Catholic priests in pre-World War Two rural Poland, mullahs and imams in Palestine and all across the Muslim world have been whipping Muslims into a Jew-hating frenzy for a long, long time. With the advent of the internet, their message of hate has reached more people. Hamas, with Iran’s help, and the diabolical support of the West, has spent nearly fifty years hijacking planes and blowing up synagogues and fifteen years of launching rockets at Israeli civilian centers and sending human bombs into crowded shopping malls, cafes, pizza parlors, nightclubs, and hotels.
Please note the nature of this so-called “Third Intifada” which is upon us now.
Individual Arab Muslims are stabbing Jews of all ages. Self-appointed lynch mobs are “surging” and stoning Israeli Jews at prayer as well as Israeli cars on the road. They wield cinder blocks and deadly rocks. Individual Arab Muslims are shooting and stabbing “religious” and “settler” Jews, or trying to run over them over with cars.
Fifty-strong, they are rushing cars which they have stalled with their stones and trying to kill the driver. They have been empowered to do so both by President Obama’s cold, heartless and misguided foreign policy and by Palestinian religious and political leaders who have lied to their people about Jews endangering mosques and have imbued them with dangerous, religious hatreds.
Just like the Catholic priests did in rural Poland.
Earlier this October, Mrs. Odel Bennett, a wife and young mother of two, was returning with her family from praying at the Kotel. She was stabbed in the back and the neck by Muhanad Halabi, the man who had just killed her 22-year-old husband, Aharon, as well as 41-year-old Rabbi Nehmia Lavi. Halabi had also shot her two-year-old, Natan, in the leg. Halabi, a Palestinian law student, stabbed Mrs. Bennett again & again; the knife was lodged in her neck.
A law student did this. He was not illiterate, he was not educationally deprived, reduced to humiliating manual labor nor was he starving. To the best of my knowledge, he did not live in a refugee camp.
Physicians and physicists became Nazis and took over all the positions of the Jews who had been fired. Many of the 9/11 terrorists were educated and came from solidly middle class families. Bin Laden himself was a multi-millionaire. This is different from pre-Holocaust rural, Catholic, Poland.
As Mrs. Bennett staggered down an alley in the Old City, she begged the Arabs nearby to help her. Instead, they “’stood chatting and laughing—they spat at me.’ One man continued to drink cola; others shook her off when she tried to hold onto them to lift herself off the ground. ‘I was looking for a glimmer of mercy in their eyes,’ she said.” Miraculously, she was rescued by the Israeli police.
I do not want to frighten anyone but the parallels are very clear and very dangerous.
In 2010, At Yale, I both spoke and chaired a second panel about anti-Semitism at a global conference on the subject, a conference which had been organized by Dr. Charles Small. One of the panelists, my friend and ally, Dr. Richard Landes had to end his speech rather abruptly. He said; “Folks, they are coming to schecht (butcher or slaughter) us. The least we can do is, like Balaam’s ass, open a mouth.”
I share his words with all of us now.

At the beginning of August 2015, officials at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced they would be forced to make significant spending cuts because of a $101 million budget deficit. Adnan Abu Hasna, an UNRWA spokesman, claimed on Al-Jazeera at the beginning of August that the cut would make it difficult to fulfill UNRWA’s mission, despite the deficit being only 17% of the agency’s total budget. Abu Hasna protested that UNRWA functioned to resolve the problem of the Palestinian refugees. UNRWA, he claimed, symbolically embodied the international community’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and the return to Palestine. Abu Hasna admitted that UNRWA is corrupt, but warned that lowering its financial support, which would mean a cut of millions of dollars, would be a blow to 5.5 million Palestinians, including half a million school children (to whose schooling 80% of the agency’s expenses were dedicated). Arab states have contributed generously to construction projects for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, but are not willing to invest in helping the Palestinians themselves. This view often borders on contempt, Abu Hasna charged, because the annual contribution of some Arab states was a mere $1000 per capita. He also claimed that because UNRWA’s budget was not balanced every year, agency officials were never sure if they would be able to fulfill their obligations. He therefore suggested that donor countries, instead of contributions, should be charged a compulsory annual fee. Salman Abu Sitta, director of the London-based Palestine Land Society, participated in the same Al-Jazeera interview. He alleged that UNRWA’s economic and political problems were a deliberate attempt to destroy the agency, which is all that is left of UN Resolution 194 (regarding the return of the Palestinians to Palestine). He stressed, in accordance with an Arabic principle of tawteen, that there would be no granting Palestinian refugees citizenship in the Arab countries in which they reside. Abu Sitta claimed that Israel was behind a plot to destroy UNRWA, and was the obstacle to realizing the “right of return” to the Palestinian territories by using the “Jewish lobby” in the United States to exert pressure on UNRWA to close its doors. He also claimed that even though the U.S. provided most of UNRWA’s budget, it, too, was party to the plot. He said that America’s annual allotment to Israel was $1000 per capita, but only $75 to the Palestinians. He demanded the establishment of a Palestinian body which would demand the Palestinian right of return, and publicize the failure of the Western states that contributed very little but supported the State of Israel, in order to embarrass them. Abu Sitta ignored the question of the continued existence of the State of Israel and said that the return of the Palestinians to their land was a legitimate solution, one that was “the most assured, unique, easy to accomplish and cheap.” The countries of the world had previously been committed to the “return,” he continued, but had now altered their positions and belonged to the “Zionist plot” to destroy the Palestinian cause. The problem was not financial, he asserted, but rather one of honoring the commitments of the UN. Resolution 194 dealt with the return of the Palestinian refugees to their homes and it was the responsibility of the world to finance them. Ann Dismorr (right), the Director of UNRWA in Lebanon, poses with a map that erases the State of Israel and presents all of it as “Palestine.” (Image source: Palestinian Authority TV via Palestinian Media Watch) |
Before the interview, there was a stormy argument, also on al-Jazeera, between two Palestinian intellectuals, Dr. Hussein Ali Shaaban, who supported the Palestinian Authority, and Dr. Ibrahim Hamami, a physician, who supported Hamas. The issue was the granting of passports [that is, citizenship] to Palestinian refugees in Arab states. Dr. Shaaban was of the opinion that if the Arab states absorbed the Palestinians as citizens with equal rights and responsibilities, it would not negatively affect their right to return to Palestine, that is, cities in Israel such as Haifa, Jaffa, Acre and Safed. It would only serve to make their lives easier during their dispersal. Dr. Hamami objected on the grounds that if the Palestinians became equal citizens in the Arab states, their Palestinian identities would melt away and the refugee problem would be solved without their return to the territory of the “Zionist entity,” which was absolutely necessary. The argument, like the discussion of the UNRWA budget cuts, clearly reflects the desire of the Palestinian political class to preserve the refugee problem at all costs, and not to resolve it in any just way — not in the Arab states, and not in the Palestinian state that will be established next to Israel. This argument reflects only a desire to cling to the loopy demand to return to the territory of the State of Israel, while it completely ignores the Jews’ discourteous refusal to commit suicide. Thus, the continued operation of UNRWA means perpetuating the refugee problem, the conflict between the Palestinians and the Jews, and the vanishing prospects for peace. Others have also weighed in. Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum claimed that the international community was using financial excuses to eliminate the Palestinian cause. Palestinian sources claimed the topic was a political game, in which UNRWA was being used as a pawn to sweep the Palestinian issue under the carpet and ignore the “right of return.” Ahmed Bahar, head of Hamas’s legislative council, also claimed that the Gaza Strip was “set to explode,” and that the steps being taken by UNRWA were “a dangerous blow to the Gaza Strip with far-reaching political implications.” He also claimed that UNRWA’s steps were a clear violation of UN resolutions, the UN charter, agreements concerning refugee status and international law. He warned the donor states of the negative consequences of cutting back on UNRWA’s activities. Dr. Fayiz Abu Shamala, writing in mid-August in “Filastin Line,” claimed that a plot to close UNRWA meant the end of the Palestinian issue, and that millions of Palestinian refugees had to march into Zionist-occupied Palestine to destroy it. It is therefore clear that the Palestinians refuse to accept the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside the State of Israel, and are not willing to agree to the return of the refugees to a Palestinian state; their only objective is to destroy and displace the country next door. Unfortunately, that underlying objective, common to most Palestinians and Europeans, is also perfectly clear to the Israelis. But the Israelis ignore the Palestinians as though they do not exist as anything more than inconvenient numbers. If Israel is genuinely an apartheid state, however, why do its people accept 1.7 million Arabs as citizens, while our racist brother Arabs refuse to? Does anyone really think the Jews are so stupid as to believe that we, the Arabs who slaughter one another without giving it a second thought, will be particularly generous towards them if we succeed in realizing the right of return to Palestine? After the senseless agreement the world powers signed with Iran — an agreement that endangers Arab and Jew alike — we have to say plainly that the EU’s demands on Israel to sign a delusional peace agreement that would only serve to endanger its existence — are hypocritical at best, and that it is only rational that Israel would refuse. The only way to solve the problem of the Palestinian refugees is to eliminate the toxic UNRWA, which keeps poisoning the minds of our children with a hate leading to violence; for Arab states to award citizenship to the Palestinians who have been living there for decades anyhow; and to establish a totally demilitarized Palestinian state alongside Israel. First Step to Resolve the Palestinian Problem: Eliminate UNRWA§ “I saw a mob of 40 to 50 masked Palestinians on the side of the road. They were holding rocks and cinder blocks. … I have no doubt that I would be dead now if I hadn’t used my gun. They were going to kill me.” – Josh Hasten, Oct. 7, 2015. § Arab children watch other Arab children on television throw rocks and firebombs, and speaking of knifing and shooting Jews, and they want a part of the action. § When Arabs hear from their leaders that Jews are “desecrating” Islamic holy places with their “filthy feet” and plotting to destroy them, it is a code, telling them to go out and attack Jews. Yesterday, a friend, Josh Hasten, was set upon by a crowd of rock-wielding Palestinians, while he was driving to Jerusalem. “I saw a mob of 40 to 50 masked Palestinians on the side of the road. They were holding rocks and cinder blocks,”Hasten said. “As they approached my car, I took out my gun and fired one round in the air. The shot obviously scared them and they ran up the hill away from the road. I have no doubt that I would be dead now if I hadn’t used my gun. They were going to kill me.” In Europe and the West, acts of terrorist violence are relatively rare; in Israel, they occur several times a day — on a regular basis. Last week, Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas spoke at the United Nations, highlighting Israeli “crimes,” but without specifying any. He is, apparently, aware of losing control of the Palestinian “street,” which now seems to feel closer to radical elements within Palestinian society — especially since Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad take credit for recent murders in Israel. Palestinians who commit terrorist attacks are not, as in Europe, radicalized primarily by social media or clerics. They are, rather, radicalized primarily by their own Palestinian Authority or Hamas leadership. Arab children watch other Arab children on television throwing rocks and firebombs, and speaking of knifing and shooting Jews, and they want a part of the action. Meanwhile, the Israeli government is prevented by international pressure from disbanding these groups or arresting their leaders. The equivalent is as if Britain were plagued by daily terror attacks directed by a leadership based in Birmingham, and with the British government prevented from acting against the source, under pain of condemnation and punishment from the European Union and the United Nations. The current wave of Arab riots and terrorist attacks has been compared to an “intifada,” an Arabic word meaning “uprising” or “shaking off” — a word used to describe the desire of Palestinian Arabs to drive the Jews out of the land. The violent demonstrations and riots are initiated and orchestrated by the Palestinian leadership, seemingly concerned about losing the support of their own people. Palestinian leaders have been seeing, in local surveys and student elections, a growing disenchantment with the corrupt and sclerotic Fatah-led Palestinian governance, as well as a growing popularity for Hamas. Palestinian Authority leaders have also been seeing the rise in popularity of rival groups at the same time as they are being ignored by the world’s media and diplomatic community, who are busy with Iran, Russia, Syria and ISIS. The current violence has a greater religious component than earlier intifadas.[1]Perhaps seeing that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are strongly Islamic, PA President Mahmoud Abbas latched onto the extremist — albeit totally incorrect — Islamist theme that Jews are trying to destroy Islamic holy places. He thereby ignited a firestorm of competition among radical groups as to which faction could incite the most violence. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas (right) ignited competition among radical groups as to which faction could incite the most violence. Left: official PA media incite Palestinians, from a young age, to murder Jews. |
Hamas, ruling in the Gaza Strip, has made no secret of its wish to deepen its influence in the West Bank. This time, it was assisted by the Palestinian Authority, which used the Jewish high holy days as an excuse to accuse Jews praying at the Western Wall, of trying to take over Muslim holy places. The Western Wall, a holy place to Jews, is all that is left of the Jews’ Second Temple, which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE. When Muslims hear from their leaders that Jews are “desecrating” Islamic holy places with their “filthy feet“ and plotting to destroy them, it is a code, telling them to go out and attack Jews. In addition, Muslim women, in organized groups funded by the Islamic Movement in Israel, have been bused to Jerusalem, and paid to abuse, and sometimes use violence, to prevent non-Muslims, mainly Jews, from visiting the Temple Mount. The women punch, kick, spit, and hurl insults at Jews (and often other non-Muslims) who visit or attempt to visit the Temple Mount. For years, Mahmoud Abbas has been whipping up the Palestinians with claims — all false, as can be seen throughout the Bible — that Jews have no heritage or history in Jerusalem, and therefore have no right to be there. It is a charge he repeats despite a Jewish presence and culture in the land that dates back over 3000 years. Incitement to violence leads to actual violence. So, on October 3, an impressionable 19-year-old Arab man became a murderer. Muhannad Halabi, before setting out on his killing spree, wrote on his Facebook page, “The Third Intifada has erupted!…Defending the sanctity of Al-Aqsa and its women is out pride and honor… We know only that Jerusalem is undivided and that every part of it is holy.” This young killer was apparently caught up in the passion of the false claims of Abbas that Jews were defiling Islamic holy places with their “filthy feet,” that he took a knife and entered the Jerusalem’s Old City in search of Jews. There, he attacked a Jewish family that on its way to pray at the Western Wall. He stabbed Aharon Banita, and his wife, Adele. Hearing the screams of the victims, 41-year-old Rabbi Nehemia Lavi, armed with a pistol, ran over to stop the attack. Halabi stabbed and killed Lavi, took his gun, and shot and wounded 2-year-old Matan Banita. Seconds later, security forces arrived and killed Halabi in a shootout. Adele and Matan Banita survived. During the attack, as the wounded and bleeding Adele Banita ran through the street screaming for help, she was jeered at, spat on, hit and insulted by Arab passersby and local Arab shopkeepers. None of them helped her. She reported later from the hospital that many of them screamed at her to die. The anti-Jewish incitement by Palestinians resulted in the killing of four Jews – simply because they were Jews. In the minds of radicalized Palestinians, there is no difference between shooting or stabbing women and children, and shooting men.[2] Many in the Western media fail to portray events in Israel accurately. The most morally tortured headline came from BBC News. Its headline on October 4 read “Palestinian shot dead after Jerusalem attack kills two.” It appeared a clear effort to make readers believe that the Palestinian terrorist was the victim. Unless the West persuades Abbas to stop the incitement, perhaps by linking financial aid to performance, his intifada will continue to escalate. Barry Shaw is the Senior Associate for Public Diplomacy at the Israeli Institute for Strategic Studies. He is the author of ‘Fighting Hamas, BDS and Anti-Semitism.’ [1] In the first “intifada,” from 1987-1993 Arabs attacked primarily Israeli soldiers and police, mainly with rocks and firebombs. The second “intifada” (2000-2005), planned by the late Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat, included widespread attacks — suicide bombings, shootings and car bombs — against any and all Israeli targets, mainly civilians. [2] In 2011, for example, three of the six children from the Fogel family in the village of Itamar were hacked to death in their beds, along with their parents, when Palestinian terrorists broke into their home. It was near Itamar that four small children from the Henkin family miraculously avoided death under a hail of bullets on October 1, when Palestinians murdered their parents (Eitam and Naama Henkin) in a drive-by shooting. The nine-year-old son recited the mourner’s prayer at his parents’ graves the following day. © 2015 Gatestone Institute. All rights reserved.
