Racecar Driver Peter Portante is optimistic in bringing LinktoEXPERT and Intercity Lines to Victory Lane

Peter Portante is optimistic that the preparations he and the Atlanta Motorsports Group crew have made will bring them to Victory Lane.

Portante and team are set to contest rounds 3 and 4 of the Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship sponsored by Battery Tender this weekend.

Both races will take place on the ultra-fast NOLA Motorsports Park course in Avondale, Louisiana. The speed of Portante and the AMG #24 racecar will be put to the test against a field of 32 other Mazda Mx-5 Racecars.

Adding to the sponsorship strength provided by LinktoEXPERT and Intercity Lines will be Connecticut based Spargo Construction.

Portante explained, "Both Spargo Construction and Intercity Lines have been involved with my racing for many years. It's an honor to be brining them on-board for each event."

With Portante having now logged many laps in both Sebring races as well as here at NOLA, Atlanta Motorsports Group owners Jason Hoover and Tony Silva are optimistic that Portante will get the job done.

"Peter had a great first race with us despite some mechanical problems," revealed Hoover. "He was still able to post the fastest lap in race #1 and 2nd fastest in race #2. For a driver with few laps in this style of race car that's quit impressive; we're really looking forward to this weekend."

Presently sitting 7th in Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship Points, Portante is optimistic and believes he can bring the LinktoEXPERT - Intercity Lines - Spargo Construction #24 to Victory Lane.

"I've tested before here at NOLA (Motorsports Park) and found the track much to my liking", said Portante. "Seat time and track time are crucial in any car and every track, so having driven laps here is a huge plus. I?m really excited for this event."

The 2015 schedule features twelve races (six weekends) at 5 of the most prestigious tracks in North America, and Canada with grids composed of roughly 33 cars at each race.

About Peter Portante: Peter recently graduated from Plainville High School (2014) in Connecticut.

The Connecticut racer has secured several Championships in his young career beginning in Oval Track Karting. For 2015, he will drive for the Atlanta Motorsports Group and owners Jason Hoover and Tony Silva.

Peter has driven in both oval and road/track competition; starting in Karting and progressing into the NASCAR Whelen All-America Series at the Stafford Motor Speedway in the Late Model Division. Between 2012 and 2014, Peter raced in the Mazda Road to INDY program driving in Formula Continental and USF2000 Series events throughout the USA and Canada. For the 2015 Season Peter will race in the Mazda MX-5 Cup.
