The event will focus on The Amazon Effect where manufacturers and distributors feel the pressure to improve service and offerings to compete for customers. A panelist of industry experts will share case studies and best customer centric practices on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, Calif.

The Inland Empire Chapter of APICS,  the leading association for supply chain and operations professionals; and Arbela Technologies, a trusted and proven name in ERP and Supply Chain implementations for midsize and large manufacturing companies, are putting the spotlight on service with the Fall Executive Panel & Networking Symposium: The Amazon Effect: The Critical Importance of Customer Service for Manufacturers & Distributors on November 8. The symposium will feature networking and a lively discussion on how Amazon and companies like Amazon are continuously improving customer service, slashing lead times and building loyal patrons. Featured panelists include Kusum Kavia of Combustion Associates, Inc., Derinda Ehrlich, APICS VP Corporate Channel Services and former executive at Avnet and Motorola, Jonathan LaCour, Casa Herrera and Chris Riley, Mitochon Systems, Inc.

"Arbela is proud to sponsor APICS-IE for the third consecutive time, encouraging the promotion of best practices of customer service and experience," said Nima Bakhtiary, President and CEO at Arbela Technologies. "We have found that meeting the ever changing customer demand and predicting market trends by collecting customer data and monitoring social media are critical success factors."

"The Symposium brings together manufacturing and distribution students and professionals to exchange ideas and hear from business leaders on how they are navigating the current business environment and increasing complexities required to succeed," explains Lisa Anderson, President of APICS-IE and LMA Consulting Group. "  "This topic is near and dear to my heart having just completed research and a webinar on the Amazon Effect. We know that customer service is truly a game changer and the research confirmed what Amazon already knows. It is time for manufacturers and distributors to rethink how they service their customers and builds and deliver products to meet and exceed expectations every time. That's how you build a loyal customer!"
