April 23, 2015, Los Angeles, CA -  Ways to find and obtain the best cost for long term care insurance are explained in a new video released today by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.

"Consumers are being misinformed by well meaning reports and earnest insurance salespeople who are still promoting yesterday's vision of long term care protection," declares Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI).  The Association director notes another major consumer magazine article that talks about LTC insurance costing between $7,500 and $9,000.

"Sure some people buy fly first class but most of us fly coach and that gets us to our destination comfortably and at the same time," Slome declares.  "If you can afford to pay $9,000 for long term care insurance, good for you, but most people will only pay $100 to $200 a month and that is certainly possible if you understand ways to look at this insurance product."

The new video focuses on the "Good, Better, Best" approach to long-term care planning that Slome advocates.  "If you can afford a fully loaded policy or you really want benefits that are growing at two or three times the rate of inflation, go for it," Slome advocates.  "But if you want good coverage that will very likely provide the care that most people will want and need, there's no reason to overbuy or overpay."

The latest video from the Association can be viewed online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IePff9X14FY&  and will be posted on the organization's website where free long term care insurance guides can be accessed.
