Seek out those people you enjoy to increase excitement about your work.

My Story

I frequently state that Twitter is my favorite platform. As enjoyable tweets are read, I seek out further information on the person’s LinkedIn profile. Today, I connected with such a person. It sounded as if we have much in common. This proved to be true. The end result was I was asked if I would participate as a speaker at an event she will be hosting later in the year. Even better, we both felt our energy rising while speaking and confirmed that a monthly call will be ideal to keep one another moving forward.

Another business friend and I reconnected yesterday by phone. We had been out of touch for a long time. We exchanged stories and laughed heartily. Likewise, we agreed to a monthly conversation to keep us on track and formalize new ideas.

Facts

  1. As an entrepreneur, salesperson or job seeker, picking up the phone is essential to making most appointments.
  2. Without making the calls, getting hired or earning the sale will be far less likely to happen.
  3. Even the online connections will eventually turn into a live communication.

Tips

  1. Maintain a running list of those who come to mind for making daily calls
  2. State upfront that you were thinking of that person and ask for updates
  3. Provide your updates
  4. Determine if there is a need for your service or a collaborative project ahead
  5. Build strong relationships and identify your personal brand
  6. Reconnect with old business friends who come to mind
  7. Let your friend know your top priority and ask if they have suggestions
  8. Should you feel high energy speaking with your friend, ask to connect on a monthly basis.
  9. The monthly buddy system will ease the challenges and present deas for resolving.
  10. Staying on course with your vision in mind will get you to goal more quickly

Your Story

List those people whom you have been “meaning” to contact. Vow to contact them today. If it’s a long list, call ten per day until you get through it. However, if you know they prefer email or social media, connect that way.

Positive Mindset

There are too many people providing negative comments about how we operate. That makes communicating with a buddy or several friends in a month’s time re-energizing.

And when you feel re-energized seemingly anything is possible. This leads to the Smooth Sale!
