(December 15, 2009) Executive & Transcultural Leadership Coach Jeffrey Jones participated in "Being a Leader and the Effective Exercise of Leadership - An Ontological Model," led by Michael C. Jensen, Werner Erhard, Steve Zaffron and Kari L. Granger at Rotterdam's Erasmus Academie in June 2009. Jeffrey's participation demonstrates Human Factor International's ongoing commitment to draw together and deliver cutting-edge research, philosophy and best practices in executive coaching services for his clients.
According to course materials for the program, "This Leadership course is different from others you may know of or have experienced. This course is based on the proposition that within everyone there is a natural latent leadership ability. Rather than teaching you "leadership strategies" or being a "how to guide", this course will help you identify and remove obstacles that keep you from accessing your innate leadership talent. Some obstacles to great leadership are inherent in and shared by all people – a consequence of the way our brains work. And some obstacles are specific to each individual – the result of individual history and experience. This course works to make you aware of these obstacles, and allows you to remove them and access your natural capacity for leadership."
Course leaders included:
Michael Jensen: Michael is the Jesse Isidor Strauss Professor of Business Emeritus, Harvard Business School. He is also Senior Advisor to The Monitor Group and Co-founder and Chairman of Social Science Electronic Publishing Incorporated. He is widely regarded as a leading financial economist and organizational theorist and lecturer, the intellectual father of Private Equity.
Steve Zaffron: Steve is CEO of Vanto Group, a consulting firm that designs and implements large-scale initiatives to elevate organizational performance. Zaffron has directed major corporate initiatives with many Fortune 500 companies in more that twenty countries. His recent book, The Three Laws of Performance, coauthored with David Logan, explores the underpinnings of performance in business and articulates a new theory about what underlies breakthrough results.
Werner Erhard: For more than 35 years Werner Erhard has been the creator of innovative ideas and models of individual, organizational, and social transformation. While he may be best known by the public for applications he and others derived from those models (e.g., the est Training and The Forum), his models have been the source of new perspectives by thinkers and practitioners in fields as diverse as philosophy, business, education, psychotherapy, third world development, medicine, conflict resolution, and community building. Erhard has served as consultant to various corporations, foundations and governmental agencies.
Kari L. Granger: Captain USAF, Director, Transformative Research and Education, United States Air Force Academy. Kari is an Assistant Professor at the United States Air Force Academy where she develops and teaches transformational leadership courses and seminars. A decorated military officer, Kari has taught and applied the concepts of transformative leadership under the most challenging of conditions, even under enemy fire during combat duty in Iraq. Kari is known for consistent breakthrough performance results running logistical operations for hurricane evacuations, humanitarian aid and combat airlift missions.
Jeffrey remarked about the course, "The intersection of ontological coaching, neuroscience and leadership has resulted in a breakthrough methodology for giving leaders access to their full range of self-expression and instinctive leadership capabilities."
