paul lindsayPaul Lindsay, VP for Weber Shandwick's Powell Tate Washington operation, has moved to conservative super PAC American Crossroads as communications director.

He replaces Jonathan Collegio, who stepped down last month to head public affairs for the National Automobile Dealers Association.

Lindsay is a former communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee from the 2012 election cycle and deputy during the 2010 elections. He was press secretary to Rep. Charles Boustany, Jr. (R-LA) and worked PR for Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential bid in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

American Crossroads, which faced criticism after heavy spending and a poor showing in the 2012 presidential election cycle, was founded by GOP operative Karl Rover and former RNC chair Ed Gillespie. Steven Law, CEO of the group, said Lindsay will help AC integrate a communications strategy "that turns up the volume and broadens our reach," rather than rely only on paid media.
