This glyph, or written symbol, for Libra symbolizes a setting Sun and has its trademark blue and pink colors.

The equinox will arrive on Monday, Sept. 22—one of the four most momentous days of the year, according to noted Chicago astrologer and artist Anne Nordhaus-Bike.

"The two annual equinoxes, when day and night are of equal length, offer turning points and powerful energies as they usher in new seasons," Nordhaus-Bike explained. "They're power days, along with the two solstices that come at the start of summer and winter."

One equinox always arrives in March, when the Sun enters Aries, and the other comes in September, when the Sun enters Libra. In the northern hemisphere, the September equinox brings autumn, while in the southern it brings springtime. Because the September equinox comes in the time of the astrological sign of Libra, it reflects this delicate, airy sign by offering "a beautiful stillness, so we can reflect on what has gone before as we prepare for big changes to come," she added.

Harmonize With Libra Energies Through Art

Observing art can help us with our reflections and contemplation, Nordhaus-Bike noted.

Her latest blog post has both full details about the autumn equinox and links to Nordhaus-Bike's beautiful art to help you with your spiritual and physical journey into the concluding months of 2014.
