They are phrases we often hear, especially in marketing campaigns: ?Seeing is believing? or ?You?ve got to hear it to believe it.?

The reason these phrases come up again and again when manufacturers market new products is that they are successful. They convey to consumers that once they experience the features and benefits of the product, they will be converted into true believers.

In fact, CEA?s own research supports this. Just a few months ago, CEA published a study called Consumer Perceptions of Ultra HD Technology at Retail. It concludes that the improved quality of Ultra HD televisions is appealing to consumers but ?seeing Ultra HD technology in-person is critical for consumers to understand the benefits of this new technology.?

Another CEA study published just this month, Consumer Perspectives on Wireless Multi-Room and Portable Audio Solutions, finds that consumers rely heavily on word-of-mouth and hands-on experience when researching and buying wireless audio products and ?in-store displays are critical to the purchase process for both types of products.?

Getting consumers into showrooms or storefronts is increasingly challenging for retailers. To address that challenge, CEA launched Demo Days. Now it its fifth year, Demo Days ? May 2-4 ? is a national promotion that drives consumers to participating dealers? showrooms across the U.S. and Canada to see demonstrations of the latest technologies in consumer electronics. CEA?s national campaign to educate consumers on the opportunity includes consumer and trade press, online banner ads on CNET and social media impressions from networks like Facebook. This, coupled with local marketing from individual stores with tools provided by CEA, creates a powerful push to get consumers? attention.

If you are a retailer CEA member or custom installer, participation in Demo Days  ? including your store listing in the national dealer locator ? is completely free. Interested dealers and vendors can find out more here
