On the Move: Sony Pictures Entertainment Ups Grant

Sony Pictures Entertainment promotes Tahra Grant to EVP, chief communications officer. Grant has been with Sony Pictures since 2016, most recently serving as SVP, corporate communications. Before that, she was a VP at Rubenstein Communications, representing such clients as the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca Enterprises, the Metropolitan Opera and the Hunger Games franchise. In her new post, Grant succeeds Bob Lawson, who was promoted earlier this year to lead corporate communications for Sony Group Corporation. “Tahra has strengthened the narrative around the vitality, sustainability and forward-looking strategies of our motion picture business, while navigating some of the most complicated industry events of our time, including the COVID pandemic and the historic double strikes last year,” Sony Pictures Enertainment CEO Tony Vinciquerra wrote in a memo to staff.

Razorfish appoints David MacDonald as retail and commerce experience practice leader. MacDonald rejoins the agency from Publicis Commerce, where he was managing director. He was previously EVP commerce strategy at Razorfish and director business consulting at SapientNitro. In his new role, MacDonald will lead the development of unified commerce experiences that are designed to work in harmony with media. “David’s impressive record ensures that retailers are not just equipped but empowered with the right tools and data necessary to craft the future of purpose-driven, impactful commerce experiences,” said Razorfish CEO Josh Campo.

RLF Communications hires Betty Lin as creative director. The agency has also promoted Michelle Rash to chief operating officer and Jamie Biggs to senior communications manager. Lin joins the company from Hanesbrands, where she was senior creative manager. She has also been creative director for Clif Bar and Company and senior design consultant for Tailored Brands, formerly The Men’s Wearhouse. At RLF, Lin will be tasked leading a range of branding, website, video and creative content development projects. “Betty will play an important role establishing greater in-house creative expertise and design credibility at RLF, allowing us to better serve our industry-leading clients,” said RLF President and CEO Monty Hagler. Rash, who joined RLF in 2010 and has coordinated media relations, brand development and social media campaigns for various clients, maintains her status as VP. Biggs joined the agency as a communications manager in January 2022.
