23rd Annual College Media Conference Set for June 22–24
Washington, DC
Tuesday, January 13, 2009

The 2009 College Media Conference, "How Colleges Can Obtain National and Regional Publicity," will be held June 22–24 in Baltimore, Md. This is the 23rd year of the conference, now co-hosted by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The event was formerly directed by Keith Moore Associates, a prominent campus PR consulting agency.

The event is designed to help campus public relations directors and communications professionals develop techniques and strategies that work and make contacts with some of the nation's top reporters, editors, producers, bookers, educational correspondents and campus news professionals. A large number of seasoned journalists have already agreed to speak at the 2009 conference, including representatives of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Newsweek, NBC's Today Show, National Public Radio, Chronicle of Higher Education and other major media outlets.

Preliminary information and a pre-registration form are available at the conference Web site -- collegemediaconference.org. Conference rates and discounts are listed on the pre-registration form. The full Web site with online registration and electronic credit card payment will be available Jan. 30.

Past participants have praised the event as being "the gold standard for PR professionals in higher education" and for offering "the most useful content of any media relations conference I have attended in nearly 30 years of PR"
