Sarah Palin and the Moslem religion have more in common than you might think at first glance. Although Palin railed against the Ground Zero Mosque, she has much in common with the religion today and how people inside and outside of the religion respond to her.

Sarah Palin has three things in common with the Moslem religion:

1. The middle of her own party won't stand up to her

The Muslim moderates won't stand up to the extremists

2. Moderates outside of her party will not take her on even when she says something that can not be substantiated

Moderates outside of the Muslim religion stay mum on the extremist element of their religion

3. The media does not know how to cover Palin so they give her a pass

The media does not know or does not want to expose the extremists within the Muslim religion so they do not cover or comment on them in the traditional media

1. The middle of her own party won't stand up to her

Sarah Palin seems to be able to say what she wants to say whenever she wants to say it. The real problem is that members of her own party will not stand up to her. Especially those who may run against her are afraid of her wrath and the wrath of her Tea Party followers. So she largely goes unchecked.

Sarah Palin called out Barbara Bush because the former first lady dared to say ten words about her. Barabara Bush, a truly beloved and always outspoken former first lady, replied to Larry King''s question when she said about Palin,

"I think she's very happy in Alaska -- and I hope she'll stay there."

Sarah Palin then responded that Barbara Bush's comments were "inefficient,

unprofessional, and immature. This from the woman who smacked down American Idol for its untalented contestants at the same time her daughter had the lowest ratings on Dancing WithThe Stars.

Yet no sane Republican came to Barbara Bush's defense.

2. Moderates outside of her party will not take her on even when she says something that can not be substantiated

People inside and outside of the Moslem religion agree that the extremists in their religion, the Islamists, are a small group. The problem is that the moderates in the Moslem religion won't stand up to these extremists. When is the last time you heard a moderate call out the extremists for their terrorist behavior? When is the last time a moderate wrote in the New York Times or anywhere else that these terrorist acts need to stop?

When is the last time anyone called out Sarah Palin for something she said? Palin said Michelle Obama was wrong for initiating a program to get America's youth to move. Our young people will be in more danger of diabetes and other health challenges because of obesity, and Palin says the First Lady is wrong.

3. The media does not know how to cover Sarah Palin so they giver her a pass

Palin has threatened and has made good on her threat to ignore traditional media. So the media is afraid to get on her even worse side.

The media does not call out moderates for staying silent on the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber. During this whole argument over the TSA, the media has not reminded America and the world on the events that led to the need for tighter security. They don't know or are afraid to call out the terrorist element.

Traditional media in the last 18 months has stayed silent on Palin. On other elected officials, the media is on them like fleas on a dog. Not so with Palin. She has chosen to ignore them, so they give her a free pass. They don't know how to cover her, so all they cover is a series of photo opportunities.

I wait for the moderate Republican center, moderates everywhere, and a watchdog media to stand up, to find their backbone and do their job.
