Dr. Edward Miller was born in Tucson, Arizona. He attended the University of Arizona and graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (Missouri) in 1982. He completed a four year specialty training program in Denver, Colorado, graduating in the top 1% of Obstetrics and Gynecology residents in the United States in 1986.
He has been an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine. Dr. Miller entered private practice in Arizona in 1990 after a distinguished eight year career in the Army. Menopausal medicine, cholesterol metabolism, and surgery are his special areas of interest.
Dr. Miller is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and has been certified as a Menopause Clinician by the North American Menopause Society. His expertise within his profession is evidenced by his published research in medical journals. He has been named ?One of America?s Top OB-GYNs,? by the Consumer Research Council of America. His contribution to the advancement of medicine is further evidenced by having been elected Chief of Staff of a medical center of 750 physicians.
Dr. Miller comments, ?I began taking notes of apparent ?shortcuts? to good health and longevity that I noticed in the medical journals. While I try to exercise regularly, the reality of being an obstetrician is that my days (and nights) are often interrupted. I researched them further, analyzed them, and came to realize there are easy things that almost anyone can do to achieve a healthier lifestyle. It may not add all of the years and health that the rigors of a healthy lifestyle will offer, but it?s a definite improvement and it?s easy.?
He continues, ?I have also researched and compiled information on the top diseases which kill people in the industrialized world. The Store area of the website has booklets which detail the proven ways to drastically reduce your odds of dying from them. But if eating right, not smoking, staying physically fit, and keeping your blood pressure and cholesterol normal is difficult or too time-consuming, then Livin? La Vida Sofa is just what the doctor ordered.?
Dr. Miller enjoys running (he has finished two 26.2 mile marathons!) and he is a wine connoisseur. He has two grown children and lives with his wife (also a physician) in the Caribbean on the lovely shores of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands where they both practice medicine.
