Sheikha Maryam Kabeer was guided on the spiritual journey throughout her life. Born in a liberal Jewish family in Hollywood, she was guided to abide in spiritual centers around the world and to embrace Islam with an ancient Sheikh near the mazar of the Prophet Abraham (a.s) in 1975. She was then guided to Sheikh Bawa Muhaiyadeen (ra) with whom she studied intensively in Philadelphia and Sri Lanka for the next many years. After he left this world in 1986, continuing always to travel with him spiritually, she was then guided to other great Sufi Masters around the world who continued to pour the water of Divine Grace upon the seeds planted by Sheikh Bawa (ra).
As the garden of Allah's Grace ever continues to grow and blossom within her, she travels around the world, physically and virtually, to transmit the endless blessings being received. She has written a prize-winning book about the journey called "Journey Through Ten Thousand Veils, the Alchemy of Transformation on the Sufi Path". The book sold out and an expanded version will soon be coming out. Her home and heart are a refuge for seekers of truth, for as the teachings are continuously received, they must also be shared. And the door for seekers is always open!
