FaxZero.com, which offers
free faxing to the U.S. and Canada as well as low-cost
international fax services, has added several new features to its website, making the online faxing experience even easier and more versatile.
FaxZero's easy-upload tool now allows users to send multiple files per fax. "Our easy interface is now even easier," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator and a longtime expert in online faxing. "Now, users can upload, for example, a DOC and PDF in the same fax message. Or, upload an Excel spreadsheet and a DOCX file. Or two separate DOCs. There's now no need to fax the same recipient twice just because you have multiple files."
Another new feature is the ability to add notes to the fax cover page. Simply type directly into the text box provided on the FaxZero site.
Both of these improvements are available to both free and paid senders. The basic FaxZero service offers two free faxes of up to three pages each per day it fax machines in the U.S. and Canada. Optionally, users can choose a $1.99 premium fax, which has no daily limit and ensures priority delivery. Prices for the international service vary by country, and are as low as $3.40.
FaxZero has also enabled simplified dialing for international calls. "Dialing international numbers can be tricky, with international dialing code, country code, city codes, and so on. FaxZero is now smarter about understanding the international phone numbers that users enter, so international faxes are more likely to get there," Savetz said.
"You can now type 011 + country code, country code, or just the local area code ... all work," he added. "This change has reduced the number of non-delivered international faxes by half."
Additionally, FaxZero has increased fax speed and reliability. If the recipient machine answers on the first dial, faxes are sent in under two minutes. That's down from four or five minutes a couple of months ago.
"These new features help to prevent dialing errors and save time," Savetz said. "I'm pleased to continue to add features, destinations, and other improvements to FaxZero.com, which has delivered nearly 3.8 million faxes since its launch in 2006."
Also, FaxZero.com is still offering free
faxes to Japan, a service extended to users concerned about friends and loved ones affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami.
Since 1994, Savetz has maintained a free guide to
Internet faxing. A recognized Internet-based faxing expert, he also owns FaxPrices.com, an unbiased guide to Internet-based fax services with a
fax compare tool that matches home and business fax users with plans and providers that best suit their needs.
A sister site to FaxZero, FreeFaxCoverSheets.net offers more than 200
fax cover sheet designs as free PDF or DOC downloads.
