Gerald Dworkin will present an educational program at the McGregor Institute of EMS' Focus EMS 2010 Conference titled, Drowning and Aquatic Injuries: Prevention, Recognition and Management on November 6.  The expanded two-day conference will focus on populations which have traditionally been challenging to EMS providers including bariatrics, obstetrics special needs, and pediatric patients.  The conference will be held November 6 & 7 on the University of New Hampshire's Durham campus.

Dworkin is a professional Aquatics Safety and Water Rescue Consultant for Lifesaving Resources Inc. (lifesaving.com), an internationally-recognized New Hampshire based corporation dedicated to drowning and aquatic injury prevention and emergency management.  He has written and published numerous articles on Lifeguarding, Aquatics Safety, Water Rescue, and Ice Rescue, and frequently presents at EMS, Fire, Public Safety, Rescue and Aquatic Recreation Conferences throughout the United States.  Dworkin regularly consults as a forensics Expert in drowning and aquatic injury litigation and has consulted on over 225 cases to date.

Dworkin serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the National Drowning Prevention Alliance (www.ndpa.org), a national non-profit dedicated to Water Safety and drowning prevention.  He also serves as a Sounding Board Member for the national headquarters of the American Red Cross' Lifeguard Training Program, and is on an advisory committee for the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Ft. Lauderale, Florida.
