The FreePrintable.net websites have introduced a new site dedicated entirely to
writing templates for teachers and elementary school classrooms. WritingTemplates.net offers more than 100 templates arranged by category and features penmanship lines set against fun and inspiring background pictures.
"Children, like adults, need a creative spark to get them writing sometimes," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "These templates not only provide a theme, but they can make a repetitive assignment like letter practice more enjoyable."
Different categories are great for students at different skill levels. The
alphabet templates each feature a letter in the top corner and plenty of lines for new learners to practice writing. Some more recreational categories include templates set against pictures of food, animals or plants.
Additionally, there are seasonal and
holiday writing templates that encourage children to organize their thoughts into responses to prompts concerning their summer vacations, favorite holidays, and birthdays. More advanced students can also fill out
instructional templates, which require them to describe an activity step by step.
All of the writing templates are free to print as a PDF. The
entire collection is also available for $20.
"I recommend getting the whole collection," said Savetz. "It's great to have a quick activity at school, daycare or the waiting room that will guarantee you some quiet time."
There are more than 80 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free
printables sites created by
Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
