The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) has issued the 20,000th Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®) certificate to Jason P. Malatak of Oakdale, PA. Mr. Malatak earned his CSP credential on January 22, 2008. He is the Director for Risk Management at Mosites Construction Company.

?I am honored to be recognized by BCSP for my recent accomplishment in successfully passing the CSP exam,? said Mr. Malatak. ?I must also extend my gratitude to the 19,999 other safety professionals who have achieved this certification, for their commitment to the profession has provided me with the drive necessary to accomplish this goal. Mr. Malatak was presented with his certificate at a meeting of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) on February 11, 2008 in Pittsburgh. Roger L. Brauer, Ph.D., CSP, P.E., CPE (BCSP Executive Director) and Paul S. Adams, Ph.D., CSP, P.E., CPE (BCSP President) presented the certificate. Kenneth T. Walker, CSP (an ASSE Region VIII Area Director) also spoke and read a few words on behalf of ASSE?s President, Michael W. Thompson, CSP.

?Issuance of the 20,000th CSP certificate is a major milestone for BCSP and for the safety profession. BCSP congratulates Jason on achieving the CSP credential,? said BCSP Executive Director Roger Brauer. ?We were thrilled to find out our 20,000th CSP was also a member of ASSE. ASSE originally identified the need for a certification for safety professionals in 1967 and established BCSP to carry out that vision.?
