[00:00:24] Hey everybody it's Tom here with Episode four hundred and sixty of Screw the commute podcast. This is our Independence Day episode. The country is 245 years old. And I got to tell you, it doesn't look a day over 230. I would say now this is going to be the shortest episode ever. No doubt about it. I'm just going to briefly talk about independence. I don't want to take away from all the brave people that got us to this point, but I didn't want to relate the significance of Independence Day to the topic of this podcast, which is you gaining independence from employers.

[00:01:05] See, before 1776, the United States of America was not a country. The individual states were colonies of the British Empire. So I kind of equate these colonies to companies and their CEOs and executives are like the kings that, I don't know, pretty much rule your life. So I really can't stand that idea. And that's why I slave over this hot podcast mic to try to help you. And let's say instead of help you, let's say, overthrow the CEOs and all the other people in these companies that rule your own life. And when you get out of that, that's true independence.
