Company Head Tony Jimenez Receives Special Business Award at Minority Enterprise Event

MicroTech, a leading technology and systems integrator, announces that President & CEO Tony Jimenez has received the prestigious 2010 Minority Business Enterprise® (MBE) "Business Legend Award" and inclusion into the Minority Business Enterprise Hall of Fame. Jimenez was chosen because of his continuing success as an entrepreneur and the sustained high-level of his contributions to his peers. He is a previous MBE Top 100 Minority Business Owner.

In its fifth year, the MBE program is designed to acknowledge and pay tribute to outstanding women and minority business owners in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. The awards ceremony took place at the Inn and Conference Center at University of Maryland University College, in Adelphi, on October 21, 2010, and was hosted by the Center for Business Inclusion and Diversity.

One of America's small business success stories, MicroTech (www.MicroTech.net) provides Technology Solutions, Systems Integration, and Unified Communications and Collaboration primarily in government computing environments — managing over half-a-million tech users in the public sector daily. A Prime Contractor on more-than-100 Federal projects and 20-plus contract vehicles, MicroTech offers access to 2500 vendors and over a million technology products across the government.

"This is an absolutely amazing honor," said Jimenez. "I'm proud and privileged to be a minority business leader and now to be part of this distinguished Hall of Fame. I launched MicroTech just six years ago with three employees; now we have over 400 highly-skilled professionals managing a host of critical government contracts. If I can lend a hand or be an inspiration to other entrepreneurs, then that's the greatest reward to me. I am truly humbled to receive this honor."

"Tony Jimenez represents the best of what our region's minority business community has to offer," said Sharon R. Pinder, CEO of the Center for Business Inclusion and Diversity and founder of the Top 100 MBE® Awards Ceremony. "This award is the culmination of sacrifice, dedication and hard work and will inspire future minority business entrepreneurs to strive for the same level of success."
