FaxZero, the Internet-based free faxing service, has expanded and now offers international fax service reaching 117 countries.

"More than 2.3 million faxes have been sent via FaxZero.com since I first launched it in May 2006," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator and an expert on fax services. "I'm pleased to now make it possible to send faxes internationally through the site."

The traditional FaxZero service allows users to fax for free over the Internet with a limit of two faxes of up to three pages each per day. Another option is to pay $1.99 for a premium fax (up to 15 pages) with no daily limit. Premium faxes also get priority delivery.

The new international fax service varies in price depending on the nation faxed. Many countries are $3.40 for up to 15 pages. Some are a little more, while a few are much more. (The cost can be easily viewed by clicking on the name of the country. Payment is easy via PayPal, which also accepts credit cards.)

To use FaxZero to send a fax, either in the United States, Canada or to another country, simply fill out the online form, attach a .DOC, .DOCX or PDF file (or enter text) and enter the confirmation code provided. A handy FaxZero widget or Google gadget is also available for browser dashboard use.

Savetz also owns FaxPrices.com, an unbiased guide that helps business owners and home fax users choose an Internet-based service with the help of a convenient fax comparison tool. FaxPrices.com takes into account the user's fax volume, ideal per-page cost and other preferences.

An early advocate of convenient, paper-saving Web-based faxing, Savetz has maintained a free guide to Internet faxing since 1994.
