The dirt is back in Dubai and the first night of the 2015 Dubai World Cup Carnival is upon us. The featured event goes as the sixth race on the card, led by a field of 15 in the $250,000 Maktoum Challenge Round 1 (G2) over 1,600 meters (about one mile). Surfer, a winner of the Dubai Creek Mile in his last start on the Meydan dirt, is a 4-1 morning line favorite. The $150,000 Singspiel Stakes supports the feature with a field of nine going about 1 1/8 miles on the turf, led by last year’s winner Mushreq.
