Forty-sixmen have held the presidency and there have been 31 (known) attempts on their lives. Sixteenattempts were with pistols. The rest were with rifles, bombs, poison packages,a knife and two plane crashes on trajectory to the White House. The mostbizarre was the 2018 plot by 42-year-old Gregory Lee Leingang to upend DonaldTrump’s presidential limousine (“The Beast”) with a stolen forklift inBismarck, North Dakota.
