Episode 954 – Channel Keywords
[00:00:09] Welcome to Screw the Commute. The entrepreneurial podcast dedicated to getting you out of the car and into the money, with your host, lifelong entrepreneur and multimillionaire, Tom Antion.

[00:00:24] Hey everybody! It's Tom here with episode 954 of Screw the Commute podcast. Today, we're going to talk about channel keywords as part of our YouTube series that's starting on episode 944. And anytime you want to get to a back episode, you go to screwthecommute.com, slash, then the episode number. It's this series started at 944. Want to make sure you didn't miss episode 953. That was our just previous episode on watermarks and how they can help you get more subscribers. Very simple. All these tips are very simple. You might wonder, well, why are you. Why don't you put them all in one? Well, people don't implement things, so I'm giving you little chunks, and any one of these tips can improve your channel and bring you more business. But when you put them all together over a period of time, I mean, one extra person watching your video could spend money with you. And I know for me, one extra person watching a video, they could join my mentor program, they could join my school, they could buy a scholarship for my school to care for their grandchildren or children. They could buy courses, ebooks, all kinds of stuff. See? But just think, if you could add 50 more people or 100 people a week or a thousand, or let's say you hit a viral video and it brought in a million people to see your stuff, how much money that could mean to you. So it's really worth it to take the time. A lot of these settings, you set them once and forget about them. Okay, so it's not a lot of work, but I'm giving them to you in small chunks. All right. Make sure you pick up a copy of our automation e-book. It's free. Check out my mentor program at GreatInternetMarketingTraining.com, and check out my school at the Internet Marketing Training Center of Virginia, IMTCVA.org, the only licensed dedicated internet and digital marketing school in the country, probably the world. And is licensed to operate by SCHEV, the State Council on Higher Education in Virginia. And you don't have to be in Virginia because it's distance learning. So there you go.

[00:02:34] All right. Let's get into channel keywords is what we're talking about today. And those of you that have listened to me for a while know that I'm a crazy fanatic on keywords because it's the number one mistake people have been making doing their web stuff since I started teaching this in 1996. You want to really incorporate them into your channel so you can incorporate them into individual videos too, but the channel can be found using this now. It doesn't have the biggest effect overall on your being found, but like I said, all these little tips add up and more people seeing your videos means more business for you. Okay? Oh, and while we're at it, the two major episodes you want to listen to previously on keywords. Episode one screwthecommute.com, slash, and then the episode number 1 and then episode 130. Screwthecommute.com/130. And that's the changes because of voice search. See for the past, I don't know, five, six, seven years more searches have been done on cell phones and tablets than on desktop.

[00:03:52] So episode 130 teaches you the differences in keywords because of voice search. All right. But anyway, what do you do for your YouTube channel? Well, you go into your studio, you go to settings, you go to channel, you go to basic, and then there's a keyword box there. Now you can put your channel name in there. You can put your name in there if people look for videos because there's lots of videos on the same topic. So sometimes to find mine you got to put Tom Antion next to next to it. I can think of one. Recently I did one on lighting with cookies a long time ago and to find it you've got to put lighting with cookies Tom Antion and then mine will come up. It's a I think it's a yeah, it's one video I think. And you can put individual words in keywords and keyword phrases in there. And then always remember to save or publish your changes or they won't take effect. All right. So that's how you do it. Settings channel basic keywords. Put the keywords in. Go listen to those back two episodes, episode one and 130 to get the keywords that suit that particular channel. And then the next episode. 955 coming out in a couple days will talk about your channel description. There's been a big change in YouTube that really makes your channel description right in people's faces, more than it has been. All right, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Check out my mentor program. GreatinternetmarketingTraining.com and I will catch you on the next episode. See you later.
