Washington, D.C. - The Academy of Hope (AoH) will appear before the DC Public Charter School Board at the Board's monthly April Meeting today. AoH is seeking approval to operate as a public charter school in the District of Columbia to deepen and broaden their high quality adult education services for low-income adults in the District.
AoH has been able to create a lasting impact in the Washington D.C. community by offering tailored educational services for adults who, due to low-literacy and insufficient basic skills, are not able to find or retain living-wage employment and are often trapped in a cycle of poverty.
Patrina Clark, founder and president, of Pivotal Practices Consulting LLC, serves on the Board of Directors for AoH and is scheduled to testify in support of AoH's charter application at the public hearing. Clark will highlight AoH's exemplary 29-year track record and the strong leadership and support provided by the Board of Directors.
The hearing is open to the public and is taking place at the Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School, 1100 Harvard St, Washington, DC 20009, with the AoH panel scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m.
