On Friday, November 6, 2015, The Alabama Leadership Project (ALP) will host business professionals from all over the region to its second Executive Leadership Series at the Downtown Westin in Birmingham, Al. Attendees will hear first-hand anecdotes and applicable lessons on What it Really Takes to Lead Today's Changing Workforce from Richard Caturano, a partner in the Boston office of McGladrey LLP.
Caturano is a five-time recipient of Accounting Today's "100 Most Influential People in Accounting" and has been recognized by Winning Workplaces as one of the "Best Bosses" nationwide. Curanto will share personal experience on what it takes to lead and to stay competitive in today's changing environment.
The ALP recognizes that today's executives are confronted with a changing workforce and is working to arm area leaders with knowledge and tools to succeed. "The command-and-control leadership style that worked in the past simply does not work today," says Donna Smith, former Vice President of Human Resources & Ethics at Alabama Power. "In 2008, 70% of new entrants to the workplace were women and minorities. This changing workforce also includes generational differences, technology, global relationships, and women's roles."
The ALP's well-attended inaugural event featured Betsy Myers and featured a frank and honest dialogue about leading in today's changing world.
"The event was fantastic – what a great opportunity to hear from the best and meet other folks who are committed to working to make B'ham an even better place. I'm really excited to be involved in this. Thanks for your leadership in putting it together! Look forward to the next meeting," Andrew Nix, Maynard Copper Gale.
The event is open to mid-to senior level executives in all industries who want to increase their leadership effectiveness and make a positive impact in their organization.
A discounted early-bird registration rate of $79 is available until October 23. To register, visit:
