The
Verge reports that hundreds of accidents and dozens of deaths have been attributed to self-driving Teslas. And while many of those were caused by human error, the government maintains
Tesla should have foreseen that likelihood and prevented the possibility of such errors. We still have two pilots on most airplanes, even with auto-pilot (even though some can take off and land themselves).
Last year, about 800 million people flew in the US,
but there were 227 billion auto trips in equipment not regularly inspected and without operators annually tested, and no checks for alcohol or drugs with each trip. And now some parties want to create self-flying taxis and personal, flying vehicles in cities.
Maybe it’s time to consider living underground….
