Auburn University partners with VirtualCourthouse.com to provide online dispute resolution technology for Conflict Resolution Program

Annapolis, MD, June -- 2012: VirtualCourthouse.com is pleased to announce an affiliation with the Auburn University Conflict Resolution Program for the purpose of furthering the understanding and use of online technology to empower more individuals to have access to dispute resolution resources.

VirtualCourthouse.com CEO, Judge Monty Ahalt (Ret.), stated ... "obtaining the input of two world class educators - Professors Theodore Becker and Jim Wohl will enable VirtualCourthouse to apply leading edge mediation and dispute resolution processes into the foundation of its technology."

Building on a successful pilot online mock case in the 2012 spring semester, Auburn University Professors Theodore Becker and Jim Wohl are planning to integrate VirtualCourthouse.com into a Conflict Resolution Program that is expected to be offered by the University in Fall 2013.

Professor Becker, who is the Alumni Professor of Political Science at Auburn, has been advocating and teaching the benefits of ADR for the past 30 years at universities across the US, Europe and Asia.

He claims that, while ADR is increasingly featuring on college syllabi, few programs exist outside of law schools. He therefore hopes to offer the program through either Auburn's MPA program or Department of Political Science.

Professor Becker explained that he plans to use VirtualCourthouse.com to demonstrate the time and cost-cutting advantages of ADR generally, and how these can be maximized by resolving disputes online. In the long term, he aims to widen access to justice by creating awareness about ADR in this way.

VirtualCourthouse.com has provided online resolution technology to thousands of disputes since 2001. Founded by Judge Monty Ahalt (Ret.) a judge for 30 years and an experienced mediator having successfully resolved thousands of disputes VirtualCourthouse.com is one of the oldest dispute resolution firms devoted exclusively to online dispute resolution - ODR.
