Nine nationally known cartoonists, in partnership with the USO, will be visiting wounded soldiers in military hospitals in the U.S. and Germany April 26th through the 30th. The group begins at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital in Washington D.C. and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, then will travel overseas to Landstuhl, Germany.

For the last five years professional cartoonists from the National Cartoonists Society have visited – and put smiles on the faces of - wounded troops and veterans around the country in order to give back to those who have served us so honorably. In fact, the National Cartoonists Society was formed out of similar visits in WWII, and cartoonists have conducted morale trips during every major conflict since. The USO is funding the entire trip.

On this trip will be:

Bruce Higdon (Group leader) – Army cartoonist, Punderstatements, caricaturist

Ed Steckley – MAD, caricaturist

Ray Alma – MAD, caricaturist

Rob Harrell – Adam at Home

Mason Mastroianni – BC

Chad Carpenter – Tundra

Dave Mowder – licensed Disney and Looney Tunes artist

Tom Stiglich – Disconnected/Uncle Joe/Ed. Cartoonist

Stephen Silver – Kim Possible, caricaturist
