Don K Preston is president of the Preterist Research Institute. Popular opinion is that the book of Revelation was written in the latter part of the first century under an emperor who was allegedly enmeshed in persecuting the church. Don firmly believes that the dating of the book of Revelation is vital to the full and correct understanding of eschatology.

Don invites listeners/readers to consider comparisons between 1 Peter, a book widely admitted to have been written prior to AD 70 and the book of Revelation.

In a recent formal debate with Joel McDurmon (PhD), Don Preston took note of the language of imminence in 1 Peter 4. Preston argued that since Peter is admitted to have been fulfilled, this demands the fulfillment of Revelation.

Don noted that the OT prophets foretold the end predicted by Peter, but that Peter, unlike

those prophets, affirmed the imminent fulfillment of those OT prophecies.
