Donald Trump has started his second term at the White House with a series of executive orders. The entire team is showing a sense of urgency, and there’s a good reason for that. Once you have taken the oath of office and start serving, a new campaign begins. I call it delivery marketing, and timing is the key for effective delivery marketing.

At the beginning of your term, there’s a unique window of opportunity—you have attention and goodwill. I’ve been married now for a bit more than two wonderful years, so take it from me—the nicest honeymoon is coming to an end. And honeymoons in politics usually end much faster.

At the beginning of the term, the key to effective delivery marketing is to immediately act and create the impression that you are at least trying to deliver on your key campaign promises.

Get all the bad news out at the beginning while you can still blame it on your predecessor, and then spread out the good news in bits and pieces.
