(Palo Alto, Calif. - Aug. 20, 2009 - Boomerang.com) A preponderance of email providers, with their apparently varying practices, fundamentally affects email marketing strategy, according to email marketing expert David Kearney. CEO of email marketing firm Boomerang.com, Kearney drew on research and trends in the email marketing industry to support this claim. He noted that use of Boomerang's email hosting tool BlastWizard, voted in 2008 as "Best Mass Email Tool" by users of salesforce.com, helps email marketers manage these many variables to maximize their email marketing campaigns' success.
"Boomerang's clients have access to our cadre of in-house email marketing pros, who draw on the company's legacy of experience in developing email marketing programs for small and large businesses alike," said Kearney. "This is the kind of expertise that can catapult a so-so email marketing program into the stratosphere in terms of yield."
A veteran of MIPS Computer Systems and now CEO of Boomerang, Kearney has filled many roles in marketing and engineering for the high-tech industry. Before co-founding the award-winning email marketing firm Boomerang in 1991, he earned an MBA from Cornell University's S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. Kearney's articles on email marketing have appeared in business periodicals such as DM News, and publications such as AllBusiness have quoted him on his email marketing expertise.
Several recent developments in the email marketing ecosystem underscored the complexities of email marketing that continually affect campaigns:
• More than 20 percent of email marketing messages fail to reach their intended recipients, according to research from Return Path. Furthermore, recipients' spam filters capture only a little more than 3 percent of all email messages, whereas nearly 18 percent of sent email marketing messages not only never reach their intended recipients, but also never generate a bounce-back notice to the sender; these messages vanish, the study noted.
• Even as offerings such as Gmail gain a foothold among email users, Yahoo! remains the email service used by most consumers, a recent study by comScore revealed; the service's number of users, in fact, had grown by 22 percent year-over-year last month. Also according to comScore's research, Gmail has overtaken AOL to become the third largest email service provider.
• A new feature on Gmail gives users who mark a message as spam the option of easily opting out of receiving all future email messages from the sending organization simply by clicking on an "unsubscribe" button in a dialog box.
"These are just a few samplings of the many variables that affect email marketers' work," said Kearney. "The constantly shifting landscape presents formidable, ever-changing considerations for email marketers on a continual basis. Their circumstances call for outside assistance if they want to wring the best results possible out of their email marketing campaigns."
A free email marketing trial of BlastWizard is available. In 2008, users of salesforce.com gave BlastWizard the most four-star and five-star ratings of any email hosting tool, qualifying Boomerang's product to receive that CRM provider's award of "Best Mass Email Tool." Boomerang's consultants are able to draw on a legacy of experience that the company has with enterprise clients, whose needs for email marketing campaigns have imbued Boomerang with the kind of institutional knowledge that yields best practices.
Boomerang's email marketing videos are available for free to anyone at any time, and BlastWizard itself is available for a free email marketing trial. Several companies offer small business email campaign tools; among them, however, Boomerang is alone in approaching email marketing for small business in a customized, tailored way to create individualized email campaigns for clients.
