(Palo Alto, Calif. - July 29, 2009 - Boomerang.com) New research has indicated that marketing budgets are increasing, and email marketing expert David Kearney, CEO of email marketing firm Boomerang.com, predicted that this will translate to more spending on email marketing campaigns. A joint study by Econsultancy and Clash-Media has found that marketing budgets at U.S., U.K. and other European companies have increased by an average of 53 percent over the past year. More than three-fifths of the money has found its way into online lead generation campaigns, according to the research, and email itself has witnessed a 2 percent increase in attention as a marketing tool. Research from elsewhere this year has shown that nearly a third (30 percent) of chief marketing officers and senior marketing professionals identify email as the digital channel that their digital agencies were best able to track. Furthermore, 23 percent of such individuals say email is the best-performing component of their digital marketing programs (second only to search engine marketing).
"The tracking and analytics that come with email marketing make it a potent marketing tool," said Kearney. "It is no wonder that firms, in increasing numbers, are electing to add it to the marketing mix. The issue then becomes selecting the best partner to help produce and help execute the best possible email campaigns."
