I’m pleased to give you a heads up that my analysis of the U.S. presidential election was published on Newsmax. I start out the guest article by asking how one should measure the effectiveness of an election campaign? Both in academia and in the real world of electoral politics, people usually conclude that if you win the election, the campaign was good and if you lose, all the campaign did was wrong. However, that’s not necessarily the case. You can read my full piece for Newsmax here.

I was also quoted in Business Insider about the importance of the (economic) circumstances in which the election took place: “People can’t pay for groceries with Democracy or reproductive rights. If the mood of the electorate is so sour, people just want to stop the bleeding.”

Another topic that got quite some media attention in the aftermath of the election was how the Harris campaign spent its money and ended up in debt despite record breaking fundraising. Apparently, the campaign spent millions on events with celebrities. I have long argued that celebrity endorsements are overrated. You can read my latest comments on this matter on Al Jazeera.
