Fidelifacts Employee Rosalie Norton
Cheered for Leadership Role in Community
On May 12, 2011, Fidelifacts/Metropolitan N.Y. Inc.'s Executive Officer, Rosalie Norton was commended and credited for leading the West Hempstead residents in achieving the redevelopment of a depressed area in the community. A crowd estimated between 300 and 500 people gathered to hear Hempstead Town Supervisor applaud Rosalie's determination in ridding the community of a hotel which had become a problem for the local police and residents.
Mrs. Norton credits her years of experience working for Fidelifacts in helping her to be able to rally the residents to support the sale of the hotel to one of the most respected residential developers in the country. She utilized the information gathering ability that Fidelifacts can access, to help explain the benefits of supporting the sale and the proposed redevelopment plan offered by a nationally known residential developer.
The Town Supervisor and Council members in attendance all acknowledged and thanked Mrs. Norton for her leadership and dedication to improve her community. In 2008, Mrs. Norton was recognized by Vision Long Island and received their coveted Smart Growth Award for "outstanding leadership" in educating and informing her community about the benefits of Transit Oriented Developments.
Mrs. Norton stated "My investigative experience helped me to look deeper into what was presented to the community and not take something at face value. Also, by utilizing Fidelifacts' vast resources in researching public records, I was able to make decisions and recommendations based on facts rather than conjecture. I believe this ability coupled with working closely with all segments in my community enabled the developer to begin their project with enthusiasm knowing they had the support of the community and our elected officials."
