Do you know your "one reason only" (ORO) for doing what you do? Do you have a bottom line, a measure by which you can focus?

New Rules Personal Productivity expert Tony Signorelli published a new post to help find your One-Reason-Only for doing what you do. "In business, this is pretty easy," says Signorelli. "The one reason every business is in business is to make money. Yes, you can give me a lot of mumbo jumbo about satisfaction, social linkages, mission and vision, etc. Some of that is important. But at the end of the day, the reason you are doing it is to make money. All businesses share this one reason only."

"If you are not in business, but rather are a homeschooler, a pre-commercial artist, or have some other not-for-money activity that uses most of your time, it is harder to determine your ORO." According to New Rules of Self Employment founder Tony Signorelli, working through these basic principles helps determine your ORO: "Make it temporary, measurable, experimental, and describe it out loud."

Signorelli is a consultant in sales force effectiveness, and leader of the New Rules of Self Employment. Information on the new rules is available at his website: www.newrulesofselfemployment.com.
