In this article
Dr. Schuler states there is a worldwide increase in the amount of
diabetes is due to the change in our diets. These changes result in an increase of lower leg disabilities caused by
peripheral arterial disease (PAD) resulting from blockage of the blood vessels.
In the article entitled
Foot Care: Podiatrist Explains Poor Circulation & Diabetes Schuler also notes the newer surgeries available to repair these blockages of the leg arteries.
But Dr. Schuler also says that by far walking is still the best treatment to avoid these types of diabetic complications of the legs, and surgeries should be a last resort.
