The Next Generation Indie Books Awards has named
The Great Growing Up: Being Responsible for Humanity's Future the 2013 Grand Prize Winner for Non-Fiction. The Award was presented to the San Francisco futurist and author, John Renesch, at a gala awards ceremony on the evening of May 29th at The Harvard Club in New York City. Twenty five judges selected the book from sixty categories.
In these times of great advancement in technology and science, the future is uncertain, but the possibilities are endless. In
The Great Growing Up, Renesch envisions an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just world, and he provides the framework for generating this global reality. Renesch points out that we've reached the point where it's time for humanity to grow up and assume a more mature responsibility in our relationships with each other and our planet.
Renesch has published 14 books, this being his most recent, and hundreds of articles almost exclusively on the subject of organizational or social transformation. A seasoned businessman-turned-futurist, Renesch does not follow trends to predict future events; rather he challenges the status quo and envisions better futures. His writing provokes new behaviors and attitudes so as to evoke a future that most parents want for their children and grandchildren.
