HEATHROCK® WASH YOUR HANDS ANIMATED SHORT
HELPS SLOW SWINE FLU SPREAD!
The recent swine flu outbreak in Mexico is a serious problem that can make people very sick or even cause them to die – and it has spread to the United States. Now we have to look for ways to slow down its spread.
"Hand washing is one of the most important ways to prevent the spread of swine flu," says Dr. Mache Seibel, – a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and founder of HealthRock® (www.healthrock.com).
"That's why we are offering our HealthRock® Wash Your Hands animated short to the media to help the public incorporate this important hand washing message by making it memorable, enjoyable and actionable. People share phones, keyboards and doorknobs, so remembering to wash your hands often is very important. And putting messages into songs is one of the easiest ways for people to remember the message," states Dr. Seibel.
HealthRock® was founded by Dr. Machelle (Mache) Seibel to educate the nearly half of the American population who don't have, or don't understand the basic health information and services they need to make correct health decisions. "Our goal is to increase health literacy so people can better take care of their health," states Dr. Seibel. Similar to what Schoolhouse Rock did for math and English, HealthRock® makes learning about health both fun and memorable by using music. HealthRock® has been the recipient of an eHealthcare Leadership Award, 2 iParenting Media Awards, and a Parents' Choice Approved award among others.
The HealthRock® Website features songs, cartoons, games, Ask DocRock, and a blog (www.healthrock.com/blog) all about children's health. View the Wash Your Hands animated short at
