Do you know the #1 thing everyone in the world wants? I believe the answer is more.
Everyone wants more of the good things life has to offer. I bet you want more, too.
You want more success at work. You want more happiness. You want more passion in your relationships. You want more money, more energy, and more productivity. And you want more meaning and fulfillment.
That said, it's possible that you feel the desire for more, yet you aren't sure what more is. It feels illusive…ethereal. But you know it's out there and that it will fill the emptiness you feel in yourself and your life.
Why You Want More
And that's the reason you want more…
Your life feels empty, and you need to fill it.
Or you feel empty and need to fill yourself.
You can try to fill your life with things and activities, but that won't make it feel full or allow you to live it fully. And you can try to fill yourself with food, alcohol, sex, relationships, or experiences, but the emptiness will not disappear.
Instead, you'll feel a profound sense of emptiness and meaninglessness.
Your Divine Unrest
This search for more arises out of what I call divine unrest. You realize you could be more, have more, contribute more, experience more, love more, enjoy more… And that generates a discord that stems from your soul.
Indeed, your soul is pushing you to realize your spiritual and human potential.
Yet, you feel stuck, unable to make the changes that would allow you to create more—in yourself and your life. You stand with your hands on the bars of your life and rattle them…to no avail. Despite your efforts, you remain caged.
At times, you stop trying to break out—it seemed a useless endeavor. But, deep down inside, you know the truth …there's something more for you. So, you go back to rattling the bars and looking for a key to get out of your cage.
Sometimes, though, your divine unrest is not strong enough to motivate action. This usually occurs when your life feels comfortable…too comfortable to change anything. Even though you know it could be filled with more, you feel reticent to alter your existence—even though change offers the potential to find something more. You realize that change might make your life better, but it's an uncomfortable process, and the results seem uncertain. So, you keep everything status quo.
Every day, though, you feel increasingly uncomfortable and unhappy with yourself and your life—and your comfortable existence starts to cage you. Deep inside, you know you need to do something to transform your empty life into a meaning-full, purpose-full, and spirit-full one. When your divine unrest becomes unbearable, you will take action.
Your Soul's Diet
I'll let you in on a little secret…
Like you, I've wanted more. My life has felt empty, and I've wanted to make it meaning-full and spirit-full. I've longed to fulfill my purpose and potential. I knew if I did that, I would create a purpose-full life, and that life would feed my soul.
You see, the emptiness you and I feel is like hunger. It comes from the diet we feed our souls—or from not feeding our souls at all. Feed your soul what it needs to thrive, and the emptiness inside goes away and your life becomes full of spirit, meaning, and purpose.
You don't need to go searching for special foods. Instead, feed your soul a steady diet of growth, spirituality, purpose, and meaning.
All of these "foods" can be acquired easily from the multitude of personal and spiritual growth options available today. You can choose from the rows of spiritual practices, like meditation, retreats, rituals, and prayer, and personal growth strategies, like affirmations, supportive habits, journaling, and coaching.
Fill your shopping cart, and then feed these foods to your soul regularly. Before you know it, you will feel full—inside and out—and will stop feeling the need for something more.
Your Choices Create More
As I searched for my particular brand of more, I realized nothing outside myself would fill me or my life. Of course, the personal and spiritual growth foods I began feeding my soul helped enormously. But in conjunction with this diet, I had to go inward to connect to my best self, Source, and purpose. Then I had to make choices aligned with who I wanted to become and how I wanted to live and serve.
My focus on personal growth made it clear that I had to change my habitual ways of thinking and behaving and choose how to show up and what to create each day. As I moved into alignment with the best version of myself, I began to feel less empty.
As I worked on my personal growth, I grew spiritually. I got out of my own way and aligned with the part of me always connected to Source. I began to live into the knowledge that I am "a spiritual being having a physical experience" and spent time conscious of energy, intuition, and Source. I asked for guidance—and followed it. These pursuits filled me and lessened my desire for more.
The process of personal and spiritual growth showed me that something more did, indeed, exist. But it was within me the entire time. As I aligned with the best version of myself and my spiritual nature, I felt fuller, and my life became fuller, too.https://ninaamir.com/why-want-more-how-find/" target="_blank">t
How to Discover More
I'm not full yet. And many days, I still seek more. But these two endeavors—personal and spiritual growth—continually help me discover more and feel full. And as long as I follow the path of personal and spiritual growth, the more I experience a fulfilling, joyful, purposeful, spiritual, meaningful, abundant, and passionate life.
Imagine what it would be like to live a life that has you firing on all cylinders, feeling eager to get out of bed every morning, growing and learning continually, and finding meaning and purpose in all you do and have. Imagine a life of purpose, tapped into Source, and aligned with your soul's desire.
That's the something more you seek…and you can have it. You need only focus on your personal and spiritual growth.
As you do so, you feed your soul what it needs to thrive. You fill it…and yourself. As a result, your life becomes spirit-full, meaning-full, and purpose-full. And you stop needing, wanting, seeking more. You have all you need and want.
