How to do Wine Pairings..

Wine pairings are a way to enhance a meal. Here is a simple guide for how to pair wine:

For pairing with raw vegetables, a dry white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or a sparkling wine such as champagne is best.

Roasted veggiesFor pairing with roasted vegetables, a dry white wine is an option as well, but you can also use a light red wine such as a pinot noir or a medium red wine such as merlot.

Soft Cheese-For pairing with a soft cheese, use a sweet white wine such as a riesling, a rich white wine such as a chardonnay, a sparkling wine, or a dessert wine such as sherry.

Hard Cheeses-For pairing with a hard cheese, use a sweet wine, a sparkling wine, a medium red, or a bold red such as malbec.

Starches-For pairing with starches, you have many options. You can use a dry white wine, a rich white wine, a sparkling wine, a light red, a medium red, a bold red, or a dessert wine. Essentially, anything except a sweet white wine.

Seafood-For pairing with fish, use a dry white wine, a rich white wine, or a sparkling wine.

For pairing with rich fish, use either a light red or a rich white wine.

White Meat For pairing with white meat, use either rich white wine, light red wine, or medium red wine.

Red Meat For pairing with red meat, use a medium or bold red wine.

Cured Meat– for pairing with cured meat, you also have a lot of options. You can use a sweet white, light red, medium red, bold red, or dessert wine.

Sweets– Lastly, for pairing with sweets, use either a dessert wine or a sweet white wine.
