(May 26, 2011) Human Factor International Executive Coach & Managing Director Jeffrey Jones is currently featured in an article published on the Harvard Business Review - Chinese Edition website
http://www.ebusinessreview.cn/articledetail-65832.html). The article titled, "Can Cross-Cultural Intelligence Be Strategically Enhanced?: Coaching the Global Mindset to Enhance a Corporation's Competitive Edge" explores how effective coaching can positively impact performance and business results in unfamiliar cultural contexts. Written by Robert Murray and Paul Wesman, the article chronicles Jeffrey's executive coaching engagement with then CEO of Dwight Asset Management, Laura Dagan, and was posted on May 9, 2011.
An excerpt from the article reads: "Dagan represents a typical global coaching client for Jones, who has accumulated nearly two decades of experience as a prominent executive coach, speaker, and educator. By helping Dagan to identify the principal areas in which her own cultural orientation might differ from that of her Chinese colleagues, Jones enabled Dagan to anticipate specific areas where behavioral style-shifting might be necessary. Benefiting from this customized approach, Dagan was able to develop effective cross-cultural business relationships that enabled her to fulfill the goals established prior to her trip: 'Soon after my return, Jeffrey called me to arrange a follow-up discussion. As I told him, everything happened just as he had predicted. I was well prepared for the meetings, which went smoothly and achieved our objectives. The various encounters during my leisure time also went as predicted, which helped me relax and fully enjoy each experience. It was a fabulous and rewarding trip.'"
The article goes on to outline how these results were achieved with Dagan, and continues with a macro level examination of cross-cultural applications of coaching, methodology, measuring progress, and the expanding role of coaching in an increasingly global workforce.
