First launched into health care applications—especially hospital sterile processing departments—Interscan's line of hydrogen peroxide monitoring instrumentation is now well-introduced into the food, chemical processing, bio-decontamination, and wastewater treatment industries.
Available configurations of the hydrogen peroxide units range from portable survey monitors to permanently installed multipoint systems, with full data acquisition, archiving, and reporting capability.
Although hydrogen peroxide is familiar, and is in common use as a household antiseptic in a 3% solution, higher concentrations can be hazardous and are quite corrosive. The allowable levels of the compound as a gas in ambient air are low: OSHA has set its Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) at 1 ppm on an 8-hour time-weighted average.
According to Grant McClure, the company's manager of special projects, "We are gratified by the industry acceptance of these analyzers, and will soon be announcing a breakthrough simplified calibration method for them, as well."
With a minimum detectability of 0.05 ppm, quick response time, excellent interference rejection (full data available on the company's website), and full scale ranges up to 0-1000 ppm, the hydrogen peroxide analyzers are ideally suited for virtually any monitoring requirement.
