While we may hear demeaning remarks, it’s best to continue our unique path, embracing integrity as we move forward, whether self-employed or on a corporate career journey. Integrity encourages trust, which is the starting point for earning client loyalty, leading to our business growth.

People in the news from varying industries are excellent models to observe and learn from regarding our preference for leadership style. Additionally, the creative arts, such as film, plays, and music lyrics, contribute insights via stories and carefully selected verbiage regarding painful moments and inspiring possibilities.

In business, a better leadership style is to model motivational and inspirational messaging encouraging staff to do their best. Moreover, salespeople will learn how to model efforts to perform well themselves and have inspiring conversations with prospective clientele that will ultimately encourage new business. Entrepreneurs have leadership lessons at their fingertips by reading online posts, possibly their own previous experiences, both good and bad, and exchanging information with peers on the better ways to proceed.

The Creative Arts 

One example is that of the Hollywood actors and actresses who earn Academy awards, but behind the scenes, some experience a painful journey to gain the recognition they ultimately receive. Some stories are almost mind-numbing, and we wonder how and why select individuals continue on their path. The dilemma brings up the question,

‘To what extent am I willing to endure the undesirable communications hurled at me?’

On another note, one solution is to embrace all the awful incidents in a document to figure out whether it will make a motivating story via a book or a movie for the benefit of many.

Mindset Matters

One critical moment is to realize when our tolerance of poor behaviors will no longer work, as the outcome is far from worthwhile. On the other hand, poor experience(s) guide us to seek better situations and outcomes that can motivate us to model leadership excellence.

The next issue around mindset is our denial of being able to achieve an almost seemingly frivolous dream. But if it continues to pop up in our minds, it may not be frivolous, but it is something we yearn to do. The only way to know whether an idea will work is to create a plan with goals and timelines included and then begin testing the concept one step at a time. Although the first phase may not perform well, embracing the passion to succeed includes testing, revision, and testing. Again, we need to see the baby steps convert to large strides and, ultimately, the success we desire.

Serving Communities Build Leadership Traits

We each have unique experiences and as we look back an ‘ah-ha’ moment may arise upon the realization that we did something right and the time is now to embrace it for moving forward. It may be suitable to consider contributing help to a community in need of your expertise. The experience of deliberately helping others and the feedback we receive often elevate our motivation to do more. 

Conclusion: Leadership Excellence is Critical for Business Growth

Learning lessons, both good and bad, from others, can increase our confidence, knowing we are on the better track and positioned to help others. It’s not a guarantee, but occasionally, receiving an introduction to another doing similar work will lead to a new collaborative partner. The goodwill all around far outweighs the effort, as many will benefit.
