Los Angeles, CA | April 13, 2021. Picking the right book editor is one of the most important decisions an author will ever make. An editor's input is crucial whether the author is submitting a book to literary agents or self-publishing. Next Sunday, April 18, at 10 AM Pacific, LA Book Editor/Book Coach Robin Quinn will moderate a panel to help writers make intelligent choices.

The 55-minute program, How to Work Successfully with a Free-Lance Editor, will feature four other professional book editors, in addition to Ms. Quinn.

Deanna Brady, freelance editor of fiction and nonfiction, whose clients range from individual authors and professionals to small businesses and major corporations.

Monica Faulkner, Ph.D., who offers expert editorial guidance from initial evaluations through final drafts and submission guidance. Recent projects include: Out of the Fields (memoir/film documentary),The Photo Traveler (YA trilogy), and Unlock the Sales Game (business program).

Gerald Everett Jones, Host, Get Published! podcast, Author of the award-winning Evan Wycliff Mystery series as well as the forthcoming literary novel, Harry Harambee's Kenyan Sundowner. Editor of Prime Rib & Boxcars. Whatever Happened to Victoria Station? and Co-Writer/Book Packager of The Light in His Soul.

Ms. Quinn will open the panel with a definition of the basic types of book editing available. Then the panelists will discuss their processes for working with authors. Other topics to be covered include working with editors do's and don'ts, how to prepare your manuscript for editing, the importance of editing samples and estimates, among other topics.

The BookFest® is returning for its 3rd biannual virtual event with the Spring 2021 edition.
