EllynAnne?s essay, ?I Never Saw My Mother Do a Sit-up? was selected as a Chicken Soup for the Soul favorite. Originally published in Chicken Soup to Inspire a Woman?s Soul, 2004, it is included in the newly released Chicken Soup for the Soul: Like Mother Like Daughter.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Chicken Soup for the Soul, which is highlighting some of its very best stories.
"This story is my very favorite essay writing," says EllynAnne, author of the award winning The Apron Book. It was first published in 2004 in Chicken Soup to Inspire a Woman's Soul, "...sadly, a year after my mother died," EllynAnne notes.
"The timing of this announcement is not without purpose," says EllynAnne,"as today, December 5, is the date of both my parents' deaths, Daddy in 1999 and Mama in 2003. The saddest thing for me is that neither lived to 2006, the tipping point of my apron journey. Oh, how they would have delighted in it all."
