To support insurance agents who market Medicare insurance solutions, a special campaign is being launched by the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance.
"Our research finds that while a growing number of consumers are buying Medicare Supplement insurance over the phone and Internet, many consumers still find it preferable to work with a local specialist," shared Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI). "These consumers report having difficulty easily locating local agents interested in providing education first and product second."
To support consumers seeking local agents, the organization hosts the only national online directory listing local Medicare Supplement agents in all 50 states. "The directory is 100 percent free to use and 100 percent anonymous, something consumers told us they wanted," Slome explains.
According to the Association, website traffic to the organization's website increased 48 percent during the just concluded Open Enrollment Period (Medicare AEP). "This is a positive indication of consumer interest because this marks only the second AEP that the expanded listing has been available," Slome notes.
To support more agents seeking to connect with local consumers, the Association announced a 30 percent discount for agents adding their listing to the directory for a 3-year period. "The nominal cost of $64-a-year helps support the Association's efforts," Slome notes.
The Association has just posted testimonials submitted by agents following the 2018 Medicare Open Enrollment period. They can be read at www.medicaresupp.org/why To add a listing visit the Association's website and enter the Referral Code 30for30. The discount is available until January 15, 2019.
