The National Cartoonists Society will announce its winner of the Reuben Award for Cartoonist of the Year this Saturday night at the 64th Annual Reuben Awards Weekend in Jersey City, NJ.

The winner of Cartoonist of the Year, as well as the division award winners, will be available at http://www.reuben.org at midnight Eastern Standard Time:

2009 NCS REUBEN AWARD AND DIVISION AWARD NOMINEES:

CARTOONIST OF THE YEAR: Stephan Pastis, Dan Piraro and Richard Thompson.

DIVISION NOMINEES:

NEWSPAPER COMIC STRIPS: John Hambrock - "The Brilliant Mind of Edison Lee;" Wiley Miller - "Non Sequitur;" Jerry Scott & Jim Borgman - "Zits."

NEWSPAPER PANELS: Dave Blazek - "Loose Parts;" Tony Carillo - "FMinus;"
