For years there has been a backlash against GMO's and the public's right to know what they are consuming.
On May 25, 2013, there will be international marches to demand that GMO foods be labeled. Currently there are 41 Countries scheduled to participate in the awareness movement. [1]
"Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, is the most popular herbicide used worldwide…The foodstuffs of the Western diet, primarily grown by industrial agriculture, are increasingly being produced using a two-part system of engineered plant seeds and toxic chemical application. Novel bacterial genes are incorporated through genetic engineering, and toxic chemical residues are readily taken up by the engineered plants. Research indicates that the new bacterial RNA and DNA present in genetically engineered plants, providing chemical herbicide resistance and other traits, have not yet fully understood biological effects… Glyphosate is capable of crossing the placental barrier. Preeclampsia, a life-threatening condition for both the mother and the fetus that develops during the third trimester, is on the rise in America, and it has been proposed that this may be due to impaired sulfate supply directly attributable to glyphosate exposure. For all of these reasons, glyphosate exposure would lead to infertility problems." [2]
The Las Vegas march will start at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset & Las Vegas Boulevard, near Town Square's NE parking lot - and will feature a dynamic rally of guest speakers before marching to the world famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign. [3]
Participants in the march are encouraged to wear a
red t-shirt.
Locals and visitors are encouraged to join either the Las Vegas March or any event in their city.
